P10M extended base plates from CZ custom
« on: December 11, 2023, 05:47:11 PM »
I just received 3 of the +3 base pads for my P10M. They fit great, but only 1 will hold the slide back on the empty mag. Is there something I can do? I know they are installed correctly. Any help would be great.

Base pads don't hold the slide open, the follower does that. Check you have the follower and the spring installed correctly - there is a right and wrong way.

I understand how guns work, my friend, I’m no spring chicken here My problem is now that the new +3 base pads are installed, the slide does not hold open on the empty mag.  Everything else is the same. All put back together correctly.  I’m thinking maybe it needs a longer  spring- more tension on the follower. It’s going from 7 rounds to 10 rounds with the same spring.  I have similar extensions on a few of my other CZ’s that work perfectly with the same mag spring.  Also, with the extension removed and the mag is back in its original configuration, the slide holds open every time.

You may indeed know how guns work, but given the phrasing of your original question, no one could know that was the case. As you described the problem, it is a common issue with magazines when they are disassembled and put back with the springs 180 degrees out.

In any event, crack on, and I hope you solve your problem using your no doubt extensive knowledge.
