Witness Hunter 45ACP can also fire 10mm/38Super.

I was playing around with my 45 ACP Witness Hunter today and dropped in a 10mm barrel and extractor.  It runs fine on the 45 ACP slide.  Extraction and ejection were flawless.

Leaving the 10mm extractor in place, I switched the barrel back to 45 ACP and found that it runs 45 just fine with the 10mm extractor.  So now, I can simply change the barrel to go between 45 ACP, 40 Super, and 10mm.

I would normally just buy the correct caliber slide, but EAA doesn't sell the Hunter slides by themselves.

Did you buy the extra barrel from EAA?  Are you using the same mags for both calibers?

What is the hammer like on those? Does it have a break like the CZC Competition  Hammer? Or is there a hammer that can be installed that achieves a similar result? These pistols look amazing but I haven't heard the exact details or comparisons.

I bought both extra 6" barrels directly from EAA.  One in 10mm and one in 40SW.  I rechambered the 40SW to 40 Super.  I use 45ACP mags for the 45 and 40 Super, and 10mm mags for the 10.

It may be possible to get it to function with 38 Super and or 9mm as well, using the same 45 ACP slide.  The LAR Grizzly 45 Win Mag pistol was able to fire 9mm Win Mag but it used a different ejector and extractor to do so.

Hmm, I was looking into buying an AR or another SP-01, but might have to look into this now.  Does it use regular Witness magazines?

Interesting. I'm preparing to pick up an Elite Match. I dream of 10mm but reality tells me .45 will be the way to go if I plan on shooting it much. (I don't reload) Any idea if the 10 and .45 barrels are the same OD on the match? And have you tried the .45 extractor with the 10 mm setup?  Thanks.

That's awesome. I have a 10mm which I love to shoot but I don't reload (yet) so it gets a bit pricey. I hope the 10mm slide will eject 45 without an issue.

I've been thinking about ordering a 38 Super barrel and extractor for my 10mm but wasn't sure if it would drop in. Your post leads me to think that it will.

That won't work.  The larger diameter 45ACP case head won't fit in the 10mm slide.  You can go smaller, but you can't go larger.
