CGW adjustable sear?
« on: December 30, 2016, 10:12:11 PM »
Does anyone know if the Cajun adjustable sear is included when  you purchase their pro package with the manual safety not the decocker model.  I am looking to install a sao only trigger. Any info is appreciated Thanks

Yes the adjustable sear should be included with the Pro Package for safety models. CZ decockers do not require the adjustable sear because they do not have safetys. For clarity the adjustable sear allows one to change out the hammer without hand fitting the sear/safety lever shaft to regain proper safety function. This is the adjustable sears main purpose.

I believe so.  I converted a 75B DA/SA to SAO operation just by changing to a trigger with two set screws, one for pretravel and one for overtravel.

To get the full benefit you would also want to remove the disconnector.

To convert a DA/SA CZ to Single Action Only the disconnector is removed from the trigger bar, this part is not used in a SAO configuration. The DA/SA trigger is swapped out for an SAO trigger as you mentioned. That is it.

I do not believe there is an SAO Pro package kit. The Pro Package kits include parts that you will not need if you are converting to SAO. They include a DA/SA trigger and a disconnector. It may be better to just buy the parts that you need.

Edit: man i am slow.

Yes, but you don't HAVE to while experimenting and seeing if you want to leave the gun SAO.  And you need a big hammer and a good starter punch!  But, sure, remove the disconnector when you have the hammer out and are sure you won't go back to the original trigger.  I finally removed mine also.

Any manual safety upgrade kit (75100, 75110, and 75115) will include the adjustable sear.

As an aside, we have never replaced a CGW adjustable sear due to wear.  We warranty this part for life.

I have one of the CGW adjustable sears that CGW tuned for me specifically for the Kadet.  It had been in service for 4 years or so on a 75B frame with a Kadet mounted 95% of the time.  Over that time, the pull weight and feel never changed from the original 2.2 lbs.  That's like 40k rounds or so.  I removed it to go to a heavier sear and hammer combination at 3.5 lbs pull when the CGW bushing made my 9mm slide shootable as a bullseye competition pistol.  Since I have a P-10 coming and a P-09 backup, I will probably be putting the "old" 2.2 lb hammer and sear back in the 75B frame and save the 9mm slide for "demonstration videos"  where the 2.2 lb trigger works fine, even with the 9mm slide.  Too light for the rules for centerfire and a little light for my taste for a centerfire match gun, however.

My first CGW Adjustable sear was a test model on a 75b.  It was replaced with the updated A.S. when they first came out.  It and everything else in the CGW SR mod and  a CGW modified Shadow hammer are running as smooth or better than day one.  Tight pistol,  great mods. Can't ask for better,   well  maybe the CGW 2017 upgrades will have some temptations,  need'm or not. ;D
