New CZ 75 B Compact RAIL
« on: January 04, 2017, 07:10:11 PM »
Hello All,

I am a new member here, and a soon to be proud new CZ owner.

Just today I contacted the good people at CZ Customs and spoke with Robb, who was great.

I ordered the new CZ 75 B Compact RAIL.  Apparently it is not even in the CZ catalogue yet, but they have them.  I spec'd it out to be single action only, with a straight trigger, tritium sights, polished internals, and the extended safety (as on the Shadow models).  Of note, as you may already know, this gun is similar to the P-01 in appearance, but with a steel frame.

I cannot wait.

I know, pics are needed, and I will provide as soon as I get the gun.  Maybe 6-8 weeks?

I am planning this to be my EDC gun, so I will let you all know how it works out.

R,
Sanjuro

Yes, about the same weight as a full size 1911, which is another of my CCW guns.  Definitely a comforting weight to have on your hip.

But now, my thought is that I have a slightly more concealable gun, that can be carried cocked and locked like my 1911, but with 15 rounds.  Albeit in the 9mm instead of the 45.

I'll let you all know how it works out.

Sanjuro

I am sure you will be very happy with it, but why do you want a rail for a carry gun?

The sweet thing about a 1911 however is the very slim width and the magazines are nice and flat so carrying is easy.
I have a alloy framed officers 1911 that is an easy carry and light, but I still lean to my CZ P-01 for carry.
enjoy the new weapon.

Great question.  The rail is for a weapon mounted light.  Much easier for me to have the light on the gun than to use a separate flashlight.  This allows me the ability to keep one hand free if I need.  I do carry a separate flashlight for when I need a light and do not need to present the gun though.

Got it.  Then the P-01, or steel Compact w/rail is the right gun for you.  I just don't see myself concealing a pistol with a light attached to it, but I am sure it can, and has been done.

Congrats! I have two now. The one with red grips just got its upgrades finished and it's a single action only, like what you've ordered. I'll get some updated pics with the conversion soon. Shot it tonight for the first time. You will love it! I'm no sharp shooter like some members here, but I was grouping 4 and 5 inches at 25 yards unsupported with my two Compacts with rails tonight. Recoil impulse feels amazing and they fit in the hand very well. Can't wait to see pictures of yours when you get it!

Thank you.  You have very nice handguns!  Excellent.  I'll definitely post some pics when I receive it.

Where did you get those red grips?  They look great.
