Prepare to spend half the cost of the gun on ammo to feed it!

My pal Tdogg is not just the lucky gun winner, but also a reloader. Although he may eventually end up spending the price of the gun on ammo, that day is going to be a LONG way off.

If you'd like to find out how to half the size of your shot groups, and double the amount of ammo you can afford to shoot, then do what he did and drop by the Ammo & Handloading forum.

 ;)

Great bunch of reloaders in the Ammo & Handloading forum!  They are the reason I started loading and more importantly started reloading safely!  If you have any inclination to reload do yourself a favor and check out this subforum!

I'm currently at about $0.13/rd for competition loads of 40 S&W so I'd have to shoot just over 13000 rds :o to cover the value of this pistol!  While I like to shoot and will eventually put that through this fine firearm it definitely is going to take me a while to get there!  I'm not a retired old fart that gets to spend all his time reloading and shooting :).  I have responsibilities like perpetually checking my email/phone to see if this gun arrived yet and spending way too much time on this forum.  Are we there yet!...Are we there yet!...Are we there yet!...Can't wait to open this gift up!

Cheers,
Toby

I'm with you guys!  Reloading is a requirement if you play USPSA and aren't a trust fund baby.  Especially with short and tight chambered CZ's.  I've put 3K through my TSO since I got in it March.  That's with moving houses and having another kid!  So I'm planning on 2017 will tick up a bit as I'm pushing to get to A class in Limited (looking at 5-6K this year if I can find live fire practice time).  So in three years I'll have spent as much feeding it as it cost.  Local GM told me he shot 35K last year, pretty much same price as his Akai custom 2011.  Blew my mind.

All that said, I saw immediate improvement in my match performance compared to the regular TS I ran last year (and prior to March this year).  TSO fits my hand sooo much better, I'm getting consistently within 90% points available at matches now.  Just need to work on consistency (ie, grip pressure, body index...ya know, actually dry fire) and then find some speed!

Lately CZ forum is the best forum on the interwebs!

Well I have to go pick it up and that can't happen until tomorrow.  That said, I'm not going to get any sleep tonight and hopefully that doesn't hamper my ability to make to my FFL tomorrow!  Oh and it is snowing right now...

I will do an unboxing ceremony upon possession!

Cheers,
Toby

tdogg---you're killing me!!

I wanted a 9mm TS until the P-10C announcement and reviews.  Now I have to wait for P-10C and watch your posts on the .40 cal TS Orange!!!  This is getting more painful every day!   :) :)

Well I picked up the TS today!

https://youtu.be/pq_-EPMCJyk

My initial impressions are that that the gun is tight!  The slide fit is very snug.  I'm sure it will loosen up with shooting but out of the box it is much tighter than any other CZ I own.  I haven't measured the trigger but it is as I expected, crisp and light.  I may do some tweaking if I find it is too light.

The overall weight of the gun is heavier than expected.  I shoot a 97BD and an SP-01 and this gun feel much more substantial that those.  I can't imagine what it is going to feel like with a full 21 mag in it.  Just one more thing to get used to with a new rig.

Speaking of getting used to items, how about that safety and gas pedal?  This is my first safety model and my strong hand thumb is confused.  I will have to learn to keep my thumb on top of it.  I'm not sure that the gas pedal is in the right place for me?  I'm going to have to focus on my grip for a while until I find the right/repeatable grip.

My only gripe as of now is the bottom of the trigger guard.  The edge is sharp!  Right around the area that they undercut the trigger guard/frame and right where your strong hand middle finger rides is sharp enough to be uncomfortable.  We'll see if I notice at the range.  It would be a bummer to have to break those edges and have to refinish the frame.

Many thanks again to this forum and CZ USA!!!

Cheers,
Toby

Very nice! BTW, your playback is turned off for websites, have to go to YouTube. Not a huge deal.
That case is huge, had no idea it came with so many extras - you are set for DECADES of shooting with that baby! Like that dining table too - love wood. :)

So I clicked the box that allows you to embed the video.  Does it work now?  I've never had to check that box before?

The case is so large I am going to have to figure out how to store it in my safe.  Normally I just keep the pistols in their cases but I don't have room for that case in my safe.

Unfortunately I don't have (or I haven't found yet) a parts list to know what weight springs are included.  It looks like it takes the shorter slide stop, I already have a couple of extra that should work.

The table is some sort of hardwood and stood up to three kids thus far without too much damage.

I need to make time to go to the range soon.  This gun needs to get a work out  8)!

Cheers,
Toby
