VZ Grips on P-01
« on: January 22, 2017, 01:05:44 PM »
The mailman just brought the CZ grips for my P-01 that I picked up on Amazon.

Are these supposed to use the same screws as the regular grips? The left side went on just fine, on the right side the grip screw seems to be bottoming out in the frame long before the grip is actually held in place. There's probably still a millimeter of space?

I don't recall it being this way with my old 75 Single action when I put the VZ's on there.

Boy do I feel dumb. I got them on just fine. I was worried about stripping out the screws (or worse the frame.) Just had to tighten the one down harder and it's all good.

One negative with an alloy frame gun - it's easy to strip out grip screws...
Musashi:
- In all forms of strategy, it is necessary to maintain the combat stance in everyday life and to make your everyday stance your combat stance. (situational awareness).
- You can only fight the way you practice.
- If you do not control the enemy, the enemy will control you.

Looks good!!!

Thanks! One of my favorite guns. Ordered it about a year ago now from CGW and had them put their Pro Package in there. Took darn near 3 months but it was worth the wait.

I've kinda been thinking about ordering from them again and getting a full size CZ but I haven't decided yet. They're pricey but they're so nice!

Very nice.  I've been trying to do VZs on all of my CZs.  They really feel good to me and, as shown in your photo, really look good on the guns.

I agree I love the VZs. I discovered them a couple years ago when I was looking to slim down my Beretta 92. They made it feel like a whole new gun. I ended up putting them on my CZ 75 SA when I still had that, and now the P-01 too.

I'm old school and my preference is still nice wood on blued steel, but I've got small hands and what I think looks best doesn't always fit me so well.
