Identify this part, please.
« on: January 23, 2017, 04:21:15 PM »
New CZ owner here. I ordered some parts for my SP-01 and was installing them yesterday when a tiny part fell out from, I believe, the right side safety. Can anyone tell me what this part is, what its purpose is, and how it fits back in? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think they call that a safety detent. I suggest you search this site for videos on disassembling the SP01 to see how it fits in the gun. Kinda hard to explain in words.
Musashi:

- You can only fight the way you practice.
- If you do not control the enemy, the enemy will control you.

Yup, right side safety insert/detent. On the full length dust cover CZs this part installs behind the right side safety lever inside the frame. The left side has a spring loaded detent in the same place while the right side has detent with no spring. This part helps retain the right side safety lever.

I think the manual calls it a Safety Detent Plunger.

As a side note, the short dust cover CZs have a spring loaded safety detent on both the left and right side.

Correct. That would be its home. The orientation looks correct as well. I believe that the right side safety lever is installed first.
Correction: I just took my SP-01 safety model apart. The detent installs first, then the sear cage, then the right side safety lever.

Good pic, nothing beats a picture.

Plus 1 on what Tok36 said. He is exactly correct. A tiny dab of grease will help to hold it in place during reassembly.  Good Luck !!!
