-01/28/17: first time out with the CZ and Sig. I bought a Sig P320 and the Compact the same day at a local gun show last weekend. Before shooting, I had high expectations for the Sig and was really excited to wring it out. The grip, trigger reach and trigger action seemed really nice.  For whatever reason, despite recently shooting and really enjoying a CZ 75B SA, I was less excited about getting to try the P01.

Took both the guns to an indoor range, shooting 115 grain fmj at 5, 7 and 10 yards. As for the P01, in short ? it's a beast! Better than any gun I've ever shot. Fits my small hands just right. Trigger is good out of the box, particularly the single-action. The fit of the grip and the beaver tail make if feel locked in making recoil management a breeze and muzzle flip minimal. However, the its biggest attribute is its superlative, astounding, magnificent accuracy.  Holy crap, Batman! I thought the CZ75B SA was good. The P01 is better (or at maybe at least easier to shoot), despite the much short barrel length (3.75 vs 4.7 inches).

The other remarkable aspect of the gun: I have some Magtech steel cased ammo which quickly locked up a Glock 17 and a Beretta Vertec. When I say locked up, I mean a fired case got stuck so tight in the chamber of those guns I could not clear them at the range. Had to come home and get a hammer involved. I decided to see how the P01 would handle this crappy ass ammo. While there were some FTFs, I could shoot the ammo and it never locked up the P01. Amazing.

Between the 75B SA and the Compact, I am sold on CZs. And just when I thought I was going all polymer.

As for the Sig P320. I traded my beloved Glock 17 in to get the 320 as the grip of the 17 was just a little big for me, even without using any of the extra back straps. Regardless, I shot it well. However, the Sig's grip, trigger reach, trigger shape and action felt better than the G17, so I made the jump.

Given I'd shot the P01 first, the 320's grip did not feel nearly as nice as the P01. Needless to say, recoil and muzzle flip seemed much more noticeable. I found the gun to have decent accuracy, but not as easy to shoot accurately as the CZ, which is a magical gun, sent down straight to me from Obi Wan Kenobi. However, it should be pointed out the sights on the 320 are much more coarse than the hard-to-see sights of the P01.

As compared to the Glock, some reviewers say the higher bore axis of the 320 results in more muzzle flip than the lower bore axis Glock. Others say the difference isn't noticeable. I found the difference noticeable and probably shoot the Glock better despite the better grip of the 320. However, take into consideration the Glock has a 4.5 inch barrel compared to the 3.9 inch of the P320.

The 320 came with an extra frame with a smaller grip size. I want to give that a try before making any final judgments. If I had to choose right now, I'd take my Glock back any day of the week despite the ergos and modularity of the 320. However, as you know by now, in my opinion ----- CZ rules above them all! CZ: the force is strong in this one.

I feel a Cajun Gun Works CZ PCR in my future...or is someone here selling a PCR by any chance?

Same story here... Got one CZ now that's all I have. I want to try other brands but I don't have all the CZ's and nothing else feels or shoots as good that I had tested. Now you need an SP-01, PCR, and P-10C.

Never shot a Glock 17, but I have shot a friends Glock 19. The grip angle on the 19 was not an issue for me. The accuracy was there and it did handle several brands of 115 gr ammo without any failures. Recoil was very minimal and I do shoot his fairly well. Have thought from time to time of purchasing one, but no going to. Waiting for the CZ P10 C to come out. Looking forward to getting my hands on one.

Last year I bought my wife a Sig P320 compact 9 mm. It comes with 2-15 round mags and has factory installed night sights. She loves this gun. It fits her hands well and the recoil for her very minimal. The sights are easy to acquire for fast follow up shots. Overall for her, she loves the feel of the gun and the way it shoots. I have shot this gun as well. Although I shoot the gun well, my only issue is that I use the thumbs forward grip, and when shooting it my left thumb rides the slide stop. I forgot to mention that I'm a lefty. This results in the slide not staying open after the last shot. Other than that I have nothing negative to say about the gun. It's just not for me.

I have 5 different brands of guns, including CZ, Glock, FNX, Rock Island Armory 1911 & Springfield Armory 1911, and by far prefer the CZ brand hands down. Not going to get rid of the brands. I like owning a variety. For me, I like owning different brands and shooting them. When you shoot a CZ after shooting other brands, you can truly appreciate the workmanship and superiority of the CZ. This is just my opinion.

Congrats on getting into the CZs.  They are among the best duty pistols available on the market today.

Told this here before...

My wife shot my 3.8 XDM 9MM and really like it because she shot pretty good groups with it.  It became her "little pistol".  We went to the range with some of my CZ's and she shot my P09 .40 S&W.  She was really disappointed in her XDM.  I figured I'd better get her a CZ of her own or lose my P09 (it's too big to carry concealed anyway.)  So I got her a CZ Compact.

My youngest son had a Beretta 90-Two.  He was always bragging about his Beretta.  I got a P07 9MM and let him shoot it.  His very first group was better than what he was used to getting from the Beretta.  That P07 is his now.  His next handgun?  A CZ 75 SA 9MM (another one I bought first - but that time he insisted on paying me for it).  We put a bunch of CGW parts in it a couple months back.

I took my oldest son to the range with an XDM 9MM, a P01 9MM, a P09 .40 S&W, a Para Ordnance P14, a CZ 75 Compact 9MM (can't remember if we had the M&P 9MM or not).  We shot all of them and my oldest son ordered himself a CZ 75 Compact 9MM.

Can you get a "bad one"?  I'm sure you can.  So far I've only bought the good ones.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I went on a 3 month odyssey trying to find another 9MM that felt as good as my PCR. Wound up buying the steel CZ75 Compact.  :) These are a great pair of pistols between the sharing of mags, grips, etc., and the feel just 'different enough" for me.

Ha, that's funny. I love my CZ 75 Compact and the more I hear about the PCR the more I was one.

The PCR would be worth acquiring. It's like a Compact on a diet. I chose the PCR first because I had to choose, but both shoot wonderfully. (I sold my very nice  83 in order to buy the Compact and I have no regrets.) I'd think that if you had a PCR, Compact and a P01, you'd have quite the trio that you'd never want to part with. Nothing I held during my search felt like them.

No need to go with all metal or polymer.  The P-07, P-09 and P10C are waiting for you.  O0

They are rare and excellent firearms.  They don't cost an arm and a leg. No reason to sell them :)

Congrats OP - I also tried my friends P320. While I can shoot it ok, it doesn't do anything for me at all. For SIG, I prefer their classic models. Think P220, P229, P226 ...
