How is the PCR trigger pull/accuracy?

Hi, I am an owner of a p07, the most accurate pistol ever out of the box for me.

My gun store has a new PCR in stock, and it feels right nice in the hand. I've been wondering how the trigger is on this gun, specifically the SA and reset? Trigger accuracy is a training issue again but I prefer to have a shorter reset and a nice single action.

I am definitely interested in the PCR because the feel of metal is so much nicer than polymer, however I don't want to give up my most accurate gun- to owners of both how do the triggers/accuracy compare?

The PCR trigger in stock configuration is much like any other steel/aluminum framed CZ with the classic trigger system. They can be a bit gritty until they are broken in. With the stock hammer there is usually some creep in the SA. This creep smooths out within the first Aprox. 500-1000 rounds. I am thinking stock reset distance is around 6mm. There is some DA and SA take up before you hit resistance.

Are you planing on keeping it stock? If not there are after market parts available that remedy any issue i have found with the classic trigger system.

Tok 36 is pretty much right..I had one and later on, traded it, The trigger pulls (both DA/SA) smoothed out with use. The reason I traded was I didn't like the downward bend of the beavertail, I couldn't get a good grip on it.. When I got my SP-01, I noticed the difference right off the bat, I could get a much better grip on it and this showed on paper. As far as accuracy goes PCR's are no slouch's. Accuracy from the one I had, wasn't bad at all, I feel if I could've gotten a better grip on it I would've done better.

I have an early PCR that I bought new in 2000.  Compared to my 75B, the trigger is lighter, and crisper, and this was right from the get go.  I don't know what the newer ones are like.  The down swept beavertail does not bother me, and it is as accurate for me as my full size 75B, and pre-B.

If you have a winner, keep it --especially to defend your life!  Build up additional funds for the PCR if you want it.  Maybe you'll find it to be better in which you could then trade in your P07 for something else... or just keep it.  I'm not sure about the P07 reset, but the metal CZ guns' reset is nothing to write home about.  Despite this and the creepy trigger and the smallish sights CZs have become my favorites and shoot the tightest groups on paper for me -- right up there with the 1911s.

I had my PCR worked on by my gunsmith who knows CZs inside and out.  He polished the internals and even smoothed out the serrations on the trigger. Now it has a much smoother DA/SA trigger action with very little take up on either action and any grittiness is gone.

In my opinion, get the PCR, purchase the CGW race Hammer and 85C trigger and floating trigger pin and starter punch with the decocker cage slave pin and 10X bushing. Or, get the PRO KIT and 10X bushing or, get the Defensive Carry KIT (New Trigger not included) and !0X bushing and follow many of the on-line videos of how to break down the PCR and polish and reassemble. OR, do any of the things I have written in any combination and you will reap a great SHOOTING, ACCURATE and much cherished CZ firearm. And, this may want you to get a PO-1 too, It did me....which I have.

My PCR had a good trigger stock. Nothing like my custom CZ's but for a carry gun it was very acceptable and accurate.

My New CZ 75d PCR right out of the box is not Gritty but very smooth and Crisp.
The Double action is surprisingly smooth after reading some of these posts.
I will take it for a test drive this week and see how it handles.

The date on the Test Target was 22-9-2014.

The PCR trigger is gritty in full D/A mode, but who fires from full D/A mode?  Carry and keep mine in the decocked(1/2 cocked) mode and the first short 1/2 pull has no grittiness.

I bought a PCR in January '17 and have only fired 302 rounds. I did install the old-style trigger, floating trigger pin, and the Ultra-Lite kit. The DA pull dropped from over 11 lbs. to just over 7 lbs. and the SA dropped from about 6 lbs. to 4.0 lbs. on average. It still needs more rounds fired and a few more upgrades but I seem to be able to hit 7 yard targets with a 2-3" grouping.

Thanks, I am definitely convinced now to get a PCR, and I will keep my p07.

In any case I will probably send it in to Cajun gun works to get the full treatment to reduce the reset one day

My PCR has the Pro Package and barrel bushing and it is an amazing pistol. My P-01 is away at Cajun Gun Works for the full spa treatment (Pro Package, bushing, FO front sight w/ tactical rear sight.).

I just got my PCR from CZ Customs. They basically made it into a SDP plus a reach reduction.  It has a 8 lb DA and a 3 lb SA and is phenomenal!!! It probably didnt need it, but I sent the slide to CGW for a 10x bushing and a barrel crowning.
