So I decided to pick up the CZ Compact w/ rail that I mentioned in another post. Got it for a great price off of Mrgundealer.com for $514 ($544 shipped). The gun shoots wonderfully, but I'm having a major issue when I draw the gun from its Alien Gear 3.0 holster. The safety will switch off during the draw stroke about 30% of the time. I can't be sure, but I think the safety also wiggles itself out of safe mode about halfway just from being in the holster. I think it's a combination of the holster backing being too "grippy" and the safety itself not having enough of a detent. I've also tried it in my Alien Gear 1.0 (the leather one), and the results are similar, but not as pronounced. The safety will not switch off entirely during the draw stroke, but it is noticeably moved out of position. It's still bad enough that it could throw me off if I ever needed to use it in a DGU.
I'm holding off on carrying this piece for now until I get it resolved. At this point, I'm honestly not sure if it is a holster issue or a gun issue. Open to any suggestions. I should also add that I have cleaned all the factory grease off so I don't think that is the problem.
