About a week ago I did this little modification to my SP-01.
http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=85892.0

Not only were the results exceptional, but the tight fit of the sear cage made my safety engagement very positive, which I wasn't expecting. The OP may not be looking to do mods at this point, but this "killed two birds with one stone". In the coming weeks I will do this mod to my classic 75 Compact and my two SP-01 Compacts as well.

My 75 compact also has a weak safety, how hard is it to get the safety out? Either to change springs or give it a little more dimple. Great gun except for that one little issue.

Have you cleaned out the grease that it came with? It's pretty goopy stuff and once I did that to the 5 I've worked on the safeties were much more positive. If that doesn't fix it up I'd snag the spring recommended in this thread. It's not bad to do. Here's the videos I made for take down and re-assembly. Just go to the point of removing the sear cage and that is where you access the safety detent and its spring.

To me the simple answer is to carry it hammer down or on half cock, its safe to do either.
you have a double action that allows this so to me not worth the  aggravation unless the thumb safety is not safe in another way.
I carry my CZ and Tanfoglio this way as long as they are DA/SA weapons.
