Anyone else swap out their plastic guide rod for one?  If so is this one good?

Can't speak to this product but I would get the SS rod offered by Cajun. That way you know it will work.

Bought all my steel CZ guide rods from them. They are as good as can be had. No complaints here.

I dont have any black but 2 shiny stainless and they are beautifully machined and work great. If you live in an Amazon tax state like I do they are available from the same company on ebay for the same price minus tax. Wouldnt hesitate to recomend them but like I said I cant speak to the black finish.
