Yesterday morning I resized, belled and primed 402 .45 acp cases. The idea was to reload them today. Powder and bullet seating is way less work/time/trouble than resizing/belling/priming.
Then, yesterday afternoon the dogs went on an unscheduled exercise trip to the woods. While I was waiting I resized and sorted 563 9MM cases.
Near the end, I knew it was time to stop and go inside (but I was waiting on the dogs, so I stuck with it).
Two indicators of time to stop.
First was, near the end of the resizing my right trigger finger started to burn a little, on the inside of the first joint. I pulled my hand off the press ram arm/ball and found it was too late. I'd already popped that blister and had a nice chunk of skin hanging off the wrinkles in the joint.
Second was while sorting the brass. I turned a piece upside down, looked at it and for the life of me I couldn't figure out who in the hell makes NIM brass. I was about to scratch my head when I realized it was WIN brass. Yup, time to put it away, get off the (no longer sunny) bench outside the garage and come inside for the night.
NIM. It's sort of funny now. If it wasn't for the busted blister I'd bell and prime that brass today. Instead I think I'll do a little painting and then find something else to do.
Oh, why was I using my right hand? My right elbow has been really sore/tender for about 3 weeks now after helping my youngest son remove his old kitchen cabinets and install some new ones. All that holding up, twisting/turning to level them up, putting them in place to measure level and determine shim size, etc. And getting old. I thought maybe using it more might loosen it up some. Nope. Now I can add the big blister to a sore elbow (not the joint, the tissue/muscle on either side of the joint.)
