I am about to purchase a new TS Orange in 9mm. I intend to use it for bullseye shooting. With my eyes, a red dot is absolutely necessary. I have an Aimpoint on my current bullseye gun and want to move that onto the new TS Orange. According to the dealer, the CZ mount goes in place of the thumb rest on the left side. However, when I go to the CZ site for parts and accessories, it seems like the mounts they have are for the small RMR dot sights, and I do not see a mount with a rail that would allow a two ring dot style mount. I also have a Vortex Strikefire on my .22 bullseye gun that I could swap around, but that also requires a rail to mount.
Is there a mount that will go on the left side in place of the thumb rest that does have a rail? Or, is there a rail that can be put on the RMR style mount?
And in a separate question... It seems like it would be great if either the thumb rest could be put on over the mount so as to continue to be usable. Or, have the mount have the thumb rest built into it so as to be both a mount and a thumb rest. That thumb rest does feel really nice for stabilizing the gun during shooting. Too bad to lose it in order to put on the red dot.
thanks in advance for any advice and counsel. I have been shooting for over 40 years, but this will be my first CZ. I am hoping to be impressed and happy with it, and hoping it is a good choice for a bullseye gun. At $1650, it is pricey compared to most of my guns, but way less than the Czechmate, the STIs, and other high end competition guns.
