CZ 512 front sight base screw thread pitch?
« on: February 06, 2018, 12:30:21 PM »
Does anyone know the thread pitch/specs on the front sight base screw for the 512?  I added on a peep rear and need to shim the FSB higher, but now I need a much longer screw than the factory screw!

If anyone else is wondering, it looks like a 5-40 screw was the thread/size needed.  I used a Skinner Rear Peep Sight for the 455/452 and a Marbles or Williams tall FO front sight that is around 3/4" tall and a shim of 1/8" thick leather (8/9oz shoulder).  Shoots just a hair low now and a bit to the right, but I will tweak that tonight!  At 10 yds, I put 9 out of 10 shots in 1 hole sighting it in, too, so it's plenty accurate for plate shooting!
