A requirement for Boris_LA, who is a REAL bullseye shooter
« on: March 22, 2017, 06:20:04 PM »
I think Boris_LA should post some of his "clean" bullseye targets here like he has on Bullseyeforum.net!   I saw one clean CZ-97 and one clean 22 result.  Outstanding!
Joe
CZ-75B 9mm and Kadet, 97B"E", two P-09's, P-07, P-10C, P-10F, P-10S, MTR

A requirement? More like request or "an ORDER"!
Some of them are not posted/visible for some reason.
I am very new BE shooter only on my second season, but I will post the next clean target for your amusement.
Here is the one that 99/9x that doesn't happen as often as clean.
Outdoor, timed fire 25yrd, overcast, no wind.

Aha!  Quick compliance.  And an almost perfect target!

Post the 100 with the 97, when you get a chance.  THEN the next clean one after that will be sufficient.  For now.

Yes sir!
Also shot recently in the outdoor match. 25yard, Timed fire, light wind. CZ97B, lead 200 LSWC bullets.

And one more for the good measure with 22 timed fire.

Exactly.  Another 100 with the 97, regardless of the x count, in a match, without a shot on the 10 ring line is my goal.  Plus a 97 from the long line at 50 yards.

Nice shooting. I'll have to see if they hold these type matches at my local club.

Here is another one from today. Outdoor 25yards, Timed Fire. Is it sufficient "For now"?

Start with finding the local match and attend. Watch or shoot 22 for the first time(s). Don't get discouraged by poor initial result. Start training to shoot one handed (weekly at very least) and read up all the tips on multiple forums dedicated to precision shooting and bulls-eye. Ask questions and try to find mentor who is better shooter to couch you a bit. Add center-fire pistol to your practice/training routine.
Set up the small achievable goals at first. Get all shoots on paper, get all shots into scoring rings, get all/most on the black etc...
Keep training no matter how slow the progress is. Its one of the more difficult shooting sports and eventually you will improve. They still haven't shot the perfect score, so this place is waiting for you.

Absolutely perfect advice!!  I would add, stick to very few pistol models, adapt them to you where possible, accept that shooting well one day and not the next is a shooter problem, not a gun or ammo problem, learn to steady the gun on target and then not move it as you pull the trigger.  Easy.  But you can spend your life learning to do it consistently, 10 shots in a row.

Equipment and ammo will start matter when you achieve the expert level in your shooting career. By that time you will know what you want from it and adjust it. For starting, any reasonable accurate stock gun and low grade standard velocity ammo do just fine. Don't overthink it, but concentrate on your own skills and shot execution. You will know when gun or ammo start limiting your progress.
I have boosted confidence in equipment of many shooters by picking up their guns and ammo and shooting very tight groups. They see right away that gun is capable of and don't question it for a long time. They call it showing off, i call it demonstration.
