OK figured I'd run this by; SIG SP2022 trade for a CZ P07?
« on: March 28, 2017, 07:13:48 AM »
I have a German SP2022 with triple serial numbers,  internal extractor, night sights, flat mag base plates and an aftermarket stainless steel guide rod. It has 1500 rnds through it with no malfunctions. This is my primary carry pistol.

I also have a CZ 75B which I carry at times. I am considering selling my 2022 for a P07. The P07 is smaller, thinner (in the slide area where it counts), weighs a little less and shares the same design and feel as the 75b.  At the time of the purchase of my 2022, I was considering a P07 but I chose the 2022 due to some of the early frame problems of the P07. The 2022 was at the gun show I attended so I bought it.

I believe the 2022 is overbuilt and I like overbuilt guns. The rails are robust compared to Glock rails. When I pick up my 2022, it feels substantial and provides me with confidence in its reliability.

How is the reliability and durability's of the new P07?  I needed to replace my trigger return spring on my 75B two times and one was Cajun's piano wire return spring. I think I was dry-firing too much and have since dramatically reduced that activity on my 75b. While I love my 75b, I am now always concerned about this part failing. Do the P07's have that same failure?

The thought of the P07 with all of its improvements and the idea of having the same feel as my 75B for my daily CC weapon, constantly creeps back into my mind. I wish a store near me stocked CZ's so I could handle one but there are none!

Unfortunately, keeping the SIG and buying the P07 is not an option$. (I know that might be a common response)

I cant tell you about the P07, but I have a P09, same lock work as the 07 (gen 2).  I've shot the P09 all last year in IDPA and never had an issue.  Super reliable, deadly accurate & recoil was non existent.

Good gun IMO

I've owned a P-07 gen 2 for approx 3 years now. I'm not areal big fan of this gun. Do not like the omega trigger. I keep it around because my wife likes it. I cannot give a durability and reliability test. I'm lucky if I shoot it twice a year. This gun has the Pro-Package installed and the trigger is very smooth. I own 5 CZ's and all have CGW Reduced Power Trigger Return Spring. I dry fire my CZ's allot. The RP-TRS break on me occasionally. They do reduce the DA pull by 1/2#. My advice to you keep several extra on hand just in case. This is just my opinion.

The P-07 is a great pistol for a polymer and is great for carrying. It is good on recoil and you can Cajunize it to the way you feel comfortable. I enjoy shooting DA/SA pistols.

I also installed Cajun's reduced hammer spring, extended firing pin on my CZ 75b.  I really notice the difference.

When my Cajun TRS broke I ordered two.

Good advise.

Can anyone share their experience with the sights on the P07 P09 series? I've read about the sights working loose and the need for blue lock tite. Is this necessary and if so, does t solve any problems?

Thanks for all your replies. It was very helpful. I am still undecided. This is one of those times where time is needed for all my considerations to formulate.

When I pick up my CZ 75B, it feels so darn perfect and when I pick up my Sig and it also feels right, but in a different way. I'm thinking I might really miss the Sig and regret selling it. If I go to a CZ for carry, I'll have two CZ pistols and one rifle; my CZ 452 Military Trainer! But it's also nice to have guns from different manufacturers.

To me no other gun comes close to the 75 in fit with my hand except the PCR and P-01. I have a 452 Trainer also, a real blast to shoot. I have never had a problem with the sights on my P-09 or P-07.

Any P07 or P09 I've held in a store, for sale, had the rear set screw loose; including my P09. Lock tite is the perfect remedy, 2000 rounds no issues.

I was very close to my local gun store and stopped by to handle a P07 or P09. None on the shelves. They are very sparse in my area.

Good to know the blue lock tite is a good solution but I wonder why CZ set up the sights on the new P07's like that. The Duty version had plastic sights and the new ones are definitely an upgrade but they maybe missed the mark a little.
