I have a German SP2022 with triple serial numbers, internal extractor, night sights, flat mag base plates and an aftermarket stainless steel guide rod. It has 1500 rnds through it with no malfunctions. This is my primary carry pistol.
I also have a CZ 75B which I carry at times. I am considering selling my 2022 for a P07. The P07 is smaller, thinner (in the slide area where it counts), weighs a little less and shares the same design and feel as the 75b. At the time of the purchase of my 2022, I was considering a P07 but I chose the 2022 due to some of the early frame problems of the P07. The 2022 was at the gun show I attended so I bought it.
I believe the 2022 is overbuilt and I like overbuilt guns. The rails are robust compared to Glock rails. When I pick up my 2022, it feels substantial and provides me with confidence in its reliability.
How is the reliability and durability's of the new P07? I needed to replace my trigger return spring on my 75B two times and one was Cajun's piano wire return spring. I think I was dry-firing too much and have since dramatically reduced that activity on my 75b. While I love my 75b, I am now always concerned about this part failing. Do the P07's have that same failure?
The thought of the P07 with all of its improvements and the idea of having the same feel as my 75B for my daily CC weapon, constantly creeps back into my mind. I wish a store near me stocked CZ's so I could handle one but there are none!
Unfortunately, keeping the SIG and buying the P07 is not an option$. (I know that might be a common response)
