Re: FN 509...I think CZ really dropped the ball on the P10C release

I am glad that CZ is addressing whatever issue(s) they've found before they release the P10C, but it is frustrating they've missed their target when everyone that did a review or have commented in various forums have had nothing but praise for the pre-production samples. Adding to that is the M&P M2.0 and APX announced>released, and now the 509.

I'm still holding out for the P10C (full disclosure, I did buy the S&W and Beretta; just not "instead of"), and when mine arrive, there will be two kydex holsters awaiting them.

Good luck with your decision; whichever way you go.

I am in a much better work and physical condition to be able to give the P-10C a good test now than I was in January.  The delay just means we will be competing with at least two more entries in to the market while re-creating some P-10C buzz, assuming the gun is still as good as it was in December.  The production P-10C might even be better in some ways than the initial demo pistols were, and they were fantastic.

Geez, one of each! You need to post a full review!

I have to admit that I am secretly hoping there are lots of people that can't wait for the P10 to get here and spend there money on the FN 509 or APX or M&P 2 or whatever gun they have to have right now, simply because it makes my chances that much greater to get one when they do arrive. So please go get one and leave us a review of whatever it is you buy

I am waiting for the CZ even if it goes into next year.  While FN and Beretta are solid companies that produce good products I have more faith in CZ producing something exceptionally good.  I am really loving my VP9 as my EDC but I suspect P10C is going to retire it.

Besides the M2.0 and APX, is there anything else you want the P10C compared to?

Not in particular. While I doubt I will buy a P10C since I only shoot competition, if I were to get a striker poly, it'd probably be a P10C out of CZ loyalty.

No rush, it is not like I do not have striker fired pistols to shoot.
I have been shooting a Sig P320c and it has been great, nothing negative.

I am interested in seeing a CZ's P10c, the reports have been good.
When it goes into the hands of this forum it will get a good test.

I sold my FNS-40 today. The grip was too aggressive and I really only bought it because it was so cheap. I broke even on it, so nothing lost. I wasn't going to sand down the grip on a new, unfired gun to make it comfortable, so off it went. It looks like the new FN gun is continuing the overly aggressive texturing. I don't personally see the need for this at all. I have no problem holding on to a gun with even mostly smooth grips, like a couple of my revolvers have. The FNS grips reminded me of the infamous S&W "Cheese Graters" from years ago. I tossed them into the box and put rubber grips on my Model 19 and 66 which came with them.

I did not mean to imply that I would be getting a 509 instead of a P10C.
However, with a still unknown release to market date, I see myself picking up a 509...while we wait for the P10C.
Like I said, I will still need to see some more real world reviews...

I am glad as well that CZ has decided to hold off release until they resolve whatever issue(s) they have encountered.
I just think they should have resolved the issue(s) before sending out all the T&Es and getting everybody's hopes up.

As far as the grip texture...personally, I like an aggressive grip.

Well if it fits a G19 holster, stippling was inevitable.

i dont like to be a beta tester and will let you and others do it for me.

I didnt buy a P07 until last year.  when i get the P09, it maybe in a few years.

same for the P10C.  I will wait.  No rush to be the first anymore.
