I am probably not the first to notice this but Buds has Surplus CZ's again! B's and Pre B's
 Just ordered a CZ 75 Pre B.
They have B's,  Pre B's and compacts. Not as cheap as last year but not bad.

Mine just came in! It's an 82, Interarms import marked. Smooth blue finish, probably an 85% gun.
 Just what I wanted to own for under $400 including transfer cost and I test fired it too. I am very happy with this deal.
Happy enough to consider selling my Retro...
Now to carefully disassemble and clean/lube

That's an usual year to find!  The blue finish is nice. Would make a great project pistol to clean up. Does it have Made in Czechoslovakia on one or two lines? Would love to see a photo. Congrats.

I received my CZ 75 Pre B "Fair" condition model a few days ago. This firearm is a 1989 model. The finish shows signs of heavy use but definitely not the worst finish for a surplus firearm. The single action pull has a bit of take up but is quite smooth and light. The double action pull is not currently working properly and I am trying to get the issue solved with some help from the gunsmithing forum here. Also the hammer is canted to the left and the rear sight is slid to the right significantly.

The hammer on yours has been replaced with a later (narrow) one.
These old guns are more a matter of love and gunsmithing skill than any sort of bargain.
Here's my "fair" one as received last July:


Shot 2 feet low at 10 yards. Bushing egg shaped, front sight flopping around.
Been slowly bringing it back.

That's pretty sweet, I'd love to see some pics as well.  You don't usually see ones that old coming in as surplus.

I relieved a 1991 pre B. I detail stripped it and had to drive the mag out with a hammer and dowel. After some love and solvent and oil I have fired 100 rounds through it without problem. The finish was well worn with some minor surface pitting. It is off being cerakoted now. It works fine with the mags I have for my EAA Witness.

The original magazine that came with mine was also very hard to remove. My 18rd SP01 magazines work great in it!

What mag did pre Bs originally use? Mine was listed as a 15 round but came with a 16 in it. The EAA Witness mags are also 16 rounders.
