Welcome to our forum.

Full size "SIG Sauers",  "CZ" sport pistols,  and classic collectible "USGI 1911s"  have always been among my favourite guns.
I've been an avid collector and a shooter for decades, but  I never stop learning,
After over 38  years of guns-ownership I still enjoy shooting my own reloadings at IDPA ranges at least twice a week.

JMO this is one of the best gun forums among the several I belong to, I think it's quite a learning experience. hope you'll enjoy your time here.

Safe shooting.
Sergio

Just a quick post to say that I haven't had much time lately to take care of my Compact and post some pics.
That will come (patience...).

I am having some feeding problems with this gun (slide not fully closing sometimes, I have to push it to be able to fire) that make me wonder if the spring would not be tired.
I can't find recoil springs/guides for the Compact here...

The only thing I find is DPM kits with 2 springs. Do you think it would be ok?

I would rather buy an original spring and guide for a cost question...my gunshop has them on backorder since I've got the gun 2 months ago and doesn't know when (IF???) he'll get them...crazy.

I was thinking about buying some spares (ejector, springs, guide, slide stop...) for my CZ in order to be safe because availablity here is just terrible.

What spare parts would you recommend?
I have a relative in the US that I could have these parts sent to and who could bring them back in his luggage on the occasion.
What webshops would you recommend please?

Salut copain! (du sud aussi, 82)

It seems to be a good idea to get a spare slide stop and a bushing. According to what I read, those are the weak parts on those CZs
For us, European people, check this site : http://www.cz-spare.parts. No feedback of them, but could be a good idea to seek, prices are really fair there.

The Kadet with Tritium sights is collector, to keep at all cost!

 ;) Salut l'ami.

I had a look on the website you gave me the link to.
A lot of things are "to be confirmed" which means they're not on stock...
When I bought the Compact a couple of months ago and saw the state of the spring and its guide rod, I ordered the 2 parts at my gunshop.
To date, he still hasn't got them and doesn't know WHEN he'll get them! He says CZ has too much orders for guns and that the rest doesn't follow up. People have been waiting for some guns for MONTHS...
I wanted to buy a 577 Range Rifle last year and no one was able to give me a delivery date : one or two months or...maybe more, we don't know. They are now available on stock. I didn't wait and went for a Tikka CTR (308 Win) which was MORE expensive. :(
No regrets anyways because the Tikka is really nice, very precise and all weather (stainless steel and plastic).

Anyways, I was thinking of getting some spares "just in case" like a recoil spring + guide rod, ejector/pin/spring, slide stop
Concerning the guide rod, I see plastic and metal ones. Which to prefer and why?
My CZ75 has a plastic guide.

What's the bushing on a CZ75?
I do know what it is on a 1911, the front part, but on a CZ75???

Thanks.

EDIT : I read factory weight is 17 lbs? :o

So I finally did some pics of the CZ75 D Compact.
Photobucket f*cked me up. They are no longer allowing third party image sharing.
Unless I pay 4 or 600 bucks a year (can't recall the exact sum, but it sucks all right!).
I have thousands of pictures on there...they got me trapped!

How can I share them with you here now?

Oh, and all my old pictures will soon disappear from my posts... O0

Sorry, I didn't check the website before, so I didn't see there was close to nothing in stock.

I agree about the CZ avaibility. A few months ago, I was speaking with guys of SDS, and they told me it's terrible how bad it is. It seems to still be the same :(

Anyway, preparing a spare parts stock is a very good idea. A friend do the same for his Buckmark. Now, Browning spare parts are terrible to get too, still waiting for a buffer for mine, ordered to my gunshop in february. He called Browing several times in front of me, so I know the problem comes from Belgium.

Yes, I say the Kadet is collector because of tritium sights ^^

I checked the pciture thread, but didin't saw any CZ/Glock comparison. Maybe I missed it. Anyway, I still have time to compare before buying, I'll find a gunshop with both to handle'em both :)

For sharing my pics, I use hostingpics
