So I had a 400 round pistol class today with Chris Cerino and had an issue with the slide stop spring. Twice it popped off the retaining hook on the slide release. Every other shot, the slide would lock back since the slide release was just flopping around. I think I may have accidentally bent it either during assembly/reassembly. I took everything apart and bent it outward a little bit and the problem stopped but I only shot 90 rounds after that so I'm not 100% confident yet. I also had a single failure to feed but it was with a dirty snap-cap during malfunction drills. I'm 99% sure this will be replacing my Glock 19 for EDC and training. I've owned and sold an XDM, XDS, PPQ, VP9, P320, M&P Compact, and M&P Shield. The only other gun I shoot this well is my worn out 1911.
Below are two targets from the last drill we did. We started at 3 yard and had to draw from concealment and fire 2 rounds in under 3 seconds. Then we'd step back and repeat back to 25 yards. The target on the left was shot by one of the range instructors with a $5000 Cabot 1911. The target on the right is mine. I shot this target when I was having issues with the slide stop. To be fair, the Cabot guy is mainly a bullseye shooter but it still felt pretty good to beat the top gun in the class.

I do have a hot spot on the bottom of my trigger finger now. I didn't need a band-aid, but it was starting to feel raw by the end of the class. I do hope CZ allows us the buy the flatter pre-release version of the trigger or Apex or CZ Custom comes out with a flat trigger someday.
