CZ p10c finally!
« on: May 24, 2017, 05:16:12 PM »
Finally got my p10, haven't shot it yet but so far I love it. Feels great in my hand although I did order talon grips to try to tone the aggressiveness down a little. Mounted the Inforce app-c which fits it great.

Big issue is mag release, that sucker is so stiff it's almost not usable...I read the thread  about polishing and the glock spring and he had to replace the spring because it was too easy to accidentally drop the mag. Anybody come up with any other solutions yet?

Also trigger feels great, but it's a little heavier than I expected, can't wait to see what Cajun gun works or CZ custom comes up with!

This is like the 10th+ person I have seen that says they can't wait to see upgrades from CGW or CZC so they can make improvements to things. I understand people want upgrades but I thought the whole point about the P-10 was to not be like Glock and need any upgrades out of the box. Just seems like the hype of being "perfect" is slowly fading in people's minds.

I'm sure people will say well it doesn't need them but I want them but the same can be said about glocks. The G19 doesn't need upgrades but people get them and make a $500 Tupperware pistol into a $700-$800 Tupperware pistol.

Either way congrats. It seems CZ are finally getting quite a bit out in the market.

Every hand gun I've ever purchased I decided it needed alot of work on. The P10 I was hoping to be "perfect" and not need anything. It's close, but unfortunately not perfect.

The grip is too aggressive for me (fixing that with Talon grips)
The mag release is WAY to stiff, basically unusable and I'm tempted to contact CZ about it....(still looking for fix)
Trigger is fantastic even comparing to my ppq, however based on the pre production videos I expected it to be lighter in my mind, and would love for it to be a pound or so lighter, but keep the snap break it has.

Other then those 3 items gun seems perfect to me... other guns I've had to re contour the grip, they NEEDED complete trigger jobs, extended releases, etc....this is the closest out of box to "perfection" I've found yet out of a p09, ppq, xd, m&p, 1911, vp9, fn, and glock.

See that's the thing. Those firearms don't "need" trigger jobs, stippling, etc. as they function perfectly without them but people just want those things. Now if I were shooting for precision or competition I could understand but if that's the case I'm not buying a plastic gun. P-10s, glock 19s, etc are defensive firearms and that's why I buy them as such so upgrades aren't a need but are just a want.

You can make a plastic gun a compition gun but would need to sink a good chunk of change into one when I would just buy a accu, shadow 2, STI, etc if I was going to do that.

Some times I just want to take a defensive gun and see if it can be competive in a precision match.  Buying a match gun is no fun.  Buying a plastic service gun and winning a match with it IS fun.

So far I have a used adjustable sight, 4 tubes of Sugru, some filing, a little epoxy, and a $4 Wolff spring invested in the service gun and couldn't be happier.    That's alot less than I have in my P-07 and P-09.

You are right, it doesn't NEED anything other than the mag release fixed, however I like to modify these guns to fit ME. The P10 needs a lot less than anything else to do that. I also use mine for tactical 2 gun competitions where I don't want a "race" gun. I agree 100% with Joe a lot more fun with the duty guns.

So besides the lighter glock spring and finding too light, what else are people doing about the mag release stiffness?

When I have the next demo event (June 3rd), I will be returning the pre-release FDE P-10c and getting my own black P-10c. It will be interesting to feel the trigger differences between the pre-production and production versions.

Do let us know what differences you spot, willya?
I should have one sometime in the near future, looking to see what issues are there. I knew about the aggressive grip texture, which IU have already planned on taking down. I ran into the same issue with the P-07 Duty when it came out - thing was a cheese grater when I carried it concealed. Hopefully the mag release issue is one that works it's way out, we'll see.

Even though I don't need to, on most of my pistols, I seem to add or change different items .

I believe it's more to individualize the gun -  rather then the gun needing the change

Some lawyer selected the firing pin (striker) spring and modified the trigger pecker, in my opinion, in January.

You are probably right. I'll have the direct comparison in 8 more days.

I have a new 10 day old P10C. I also have 3 PPQs. The trigger on the P10 is very good. The triggers on all 3 PPQs are GREAT. If I rate my Walther triggers as 10s, the P10 is only an 8.5. It has some noticable "creep" that is not smooth once you get past the take-up. There is no hint of the in the Walthers. One PPQ is an M1 in .40, one an ME in .40 and an ME in .45.

I found my new P-10C trigger has some noticeable creep and grit, but based on what I'm hearing from those who have been shooting them for a while, that should smooth out. We'll see. One thing that I can compare to the Glock 19 I am issued, and that's the reset on the P-10C is incredibly nice. Looking forward to testing her out soon.
