Sight Heights?

Looking at replacing the sights on my 75 SA for a more serious competition setup. Going with black rear and a Fiber optic front. I found a few styles I like but wanted to ask about the specific heights they come in and the reasoning for choosing one height over the other, for example 5.5mm or 6.5mm.  Obviously if your going for a concealed carry weapon you want a lower more streamlined sight set, is the reverse true for competition, you want them up high off the slide? Is a taller sight easier to pick up with your eyes when drawing from a holster?

Primarily to adjust POA vs POI also two different FO diameters in 1.0 and 1.5mm.

Buy a set from Dawson and they guarantee POI or replace the front!

Buy a set from CZ Custom and when you pick your rear sight they list the appropriate front sight for proper POA/POI
Then you just decide on 1.0 or 1.5 width FO...easy peasy

I think I may have stated the original question improperly, I apologize.  I understand you would want to match your sight heights front and rear (6.5 to 6.5 and 5.5 to 5.5) to avoid POA-POI issues.  What I'm wanting to know is why you would choose one height over the other, why would you run 6.5mm tall sights front and rear compared to 5.5mm tall versions?

It would be improper to assume that the rear height is the same as the front height

You aren't buying a "matched set" in terms of being "height equal" to each other

You're buying strictly on tried and true POA/POI

    Your chosen sight picture would make a difference on which front you want.
