Custom muzzle device for the Scorpion - It's alive!!!

A while ago I posted a design for a linear comp/muzzle device for Scorpions with pistol-length HBI hand guards.

This muzzle device overhangs the barrel so there's no gap with the HBI hand guard.

A buddy of mine has a home machine shop, and he put this together for me!

It still needs to be tapped - I had to order a 1/2x28 tap off the internet for the attachment threads, but I'm pretty excited to see how it turns out.

The plan is to test it for fit and then test fire it for function, then send it out for Mil-Spec hard anodizing...if I like the design.  But I'm already thinking that it'll be a little long for what I'm going for, so I've started on Revision 2.  I'll keep you posted .

So the next question is how do we mount it? Will it thread on? Would there be one for 1st gen guns and 2nd gen guns? Or would there be an adapter that is universal?

He said hes goin to tap with1/2 x28 so it will work on 2nd gen scorpions with the 1/2x28 threads. Once you get those slots cut into it you gonna have muzzle device envy there.

Looks sweet Willhelm! Some knurling would be cool too, if you wanted to switch between comp and suppressor often.

I have an idea for one of you enterprising individuals...

Make a 1/2x28 thread protector that is is about 1.5" long. Then cut it like a brake.  (Slots down both sides) put your outer cup on the factory threads behind it.  And make it taper slightly at the muzzle to neck down to the internal part leaving a small gap. 

Now you can do linear, or brake.  Or both. 

The dual thread guns are in a unique position that isn't being taken advantage of I don't think.

I definitely want to make it a bit shorter, and I have some internal refinement to do, but this is very promising. Definitely close to what I had in mind.

It's aluminum. I plan on having it mil-spec hard anodized before firing it.

Ok, I have a Mod2 version laid out.   This corrects the too-long threaded section and shortens the overall length to get the aesthetic right.
