Availability of the 97
« on: June 24, 2017, 07:12:31 PM »
Had been saving for a Nighthawk Custom 1911.  A friend asked, 'How many 1911's do you have?  I actually had to stop and think!  Anyway, he talked me into getting a CZ97.  I've got some cash money and I'm searching around.  I have found one, count it, one available that is not an auction.  I would prefer to bet a BD, but the B seems to be the only thing available right now.

How long would I have to wait for a new shipment to be coming in?

TIA

Keep an eye on Armslist for one being sold by ffl vendors that ship. You may find one sooner than later.

There's no way to tell. Be patient and keep looking. I can tell you as soon as you spend the $$ on something different, the shipment will come in. I haven't seen any in stock(in significant quantities) this year, so they're due.

Just get this and be done with it. You will want it to be this in the end anyway.

Yeah I've started thinking I just might buy my CZs from CGW directly from now on.

The BD I linked says it's in stock, I keep hoping someone buys it so I don't have to.

This is exactly the answer...especially, since you are already very familiar with 1911's.

My local dope--ahh CZ dealer has  had P-10c, PCR, P-01, Sp-01 tact and regular, regular 75D in and out a good bit, even had a sp-01 target a few months back and I picked up a Sp-01 Shadow 2 from them not long ago-- the only CZ 97BD that I have seen was back a  year and a half or so and I bought it.
they are the real CZ unicorn in these parts.

I would have preferred to get a 97 BD but it is not on our state's roster of approved handguns, so I "settled" on a 97 B today. Their site says they have more than ten 97 Bs in stock.

I'm sure you know this, but trust me when I say you won't be disappointed from that "settling".   ;)

I was joking (kind of) when I said I "settled", I am happy to have found a 97B in California. Of my four CZs, only my SP-01 has a manual safety, the other three (BD, D PCR, P-01) are decockers. Correction, of my five CZs I now have two CZs with a manual safety.

Oh man, I just checked out how much the spa treatment at Cajun Gun Works is going to run...$625 for the "E" conversion. Plus I will want to get FO sights ($87), 2nd day air...this is going to cost me more than i paid for the NIB pistol.

Just ordered one of these from Riflegear. $689.
Probably not the hottest price, but at least it was in stock with free shipping and no CC fees.
Looks as if they glommed onto batch of old stock ones:

I believe the current ones have FO front sight and aluminum grips?
No biggie as it's going to receive the full Cajun treatment plus a TS adjustable rear sight.

NOTE ADDED: Checking the CZ-USA catalog, this is a special model just for Kalifornistan.
Hope CGW parts will fit.
