P10C Plastic Guide Rod
« on: June 28, 2017, 10:01:21 PM »
Anybody know if there's a good alternative yet to the plastic guide rod/spring assembly CZ put in the P10C?

What's wrong with the one that's in there?  Did it break already??

Someone in another thread mentioned that the stainless rod from a G17 fit their P10C, planning on trying a tungsten one here shortly

No, I haven't had any issues with the one that came with the gun.  Works fine.  I just prefer SS / Tungsten guide rods (primarily for the durability and extra weight under the barrel) -- personal preference.  There is a company called DPM Technologies I think, out of Greece, that is marketing a SS replacement for 75 euros -- ouch!  I haven't seen any US based companies yet, so I wanted to put it up on the forum and see what's out there.

I've since switched back to the factory spring with stainless guiderod.  The Glock19 18# was too light, allowing the barrel to unlock early and open up my groups.  The p10 slide and barrel assembly is 1oz lighter than the Glock 19, and needs a heavier spring to make up for less mass/more slide velocity.

I just saw on the youtube about the steel guide rod set

Btw, how great is the improvement by changing it?

I thought the P10Cand the P07 had the same recoil assembly???  CGW has made a SS guide with 2 different colored springs.  Does it not work with the P10C. David

This.  I only lighten the spring enough to get the gun to cycle reliably with low power factor ammo.  I didn't have to change the one in the P-10C.  Steel guide rod, sure, for the additional weight, but I haven't changed from the factory one yet and may not.

So the G19 spring at rest is about 1" shorter than the p10.  I might try a g17 spring to see if the extra preload makes up for the lighter spring weight.  I'm not advocating changing the spring weight, but since spare parts are currently nonexistent, I like knowing what options are available.

Earlan357--I hope the 17 spring works.  I experimented with some Glock springs when the P-09/07 first came out.  Not a problem getting springs or guide rods for them now.

I just ordered a CZ P10c steel guide rod and 15 lb spring from Cajun gun works.  There is a CZ P10c section on the Cajun gun works page.  The only thing offered is the stainless steel guide rod, same as the P07, and a Dawson fiber optic front sight.  I already installed the front sight and it works perfectly.  Looking forward to eventually cajunizing the whole p10.

I just looked at mine and it shows a little chewing. Might try the stainless one, a little more weight up front, but barely.
