I have the CGW SS Guide Rod and #15 spring. I almost have over 1000 flawless rounds through it. Seems to work great with my minimum power factor handloads, factory ammo and any defense loads I?ve ran through it.
Same set up. When shooting at speed the stock recoil spring was causing subsequent hits to dip low. Brass was also dribbling out of the gun and landing at my feet with the loads I predominantly shoot (125 gr coated bullets @ 1040-ish fps for 130 PF). Ordered the CGW guide rod along with the 18 and 15lb springs. Shot a series of Bill Drills and the best results I got were with the 15lb spring.
I have some Glock springs that I use on a Jager guide rod but the springs for the G19 are too short (won?t keep the slide in battery) and the G17 springs are long enough the spring stacks when the slide is retracted and won?t let it go far enough back to lock back on an empty mag. Be nice if somebody made a 13 or even 11 lb spring for the P10C for powder puff loads. FYI, back when I was shooting a SP-01 Shadow a lot I was using a 10lb recoil spring. Ditto on my 9mm 1911 and 2011?s. I like like recoil springs for flatter recoil. Lets me get back on target faster.
