Canik, the best value in firearms?
« on: July 14, 2017, 09:12:22 AM »
On a whim i traded for a Shark C over a year ago. The wife liked it so well I got her a T100. And then ordered a P120. My Shark has been my EDC for some time. These guns perform, and not just well but very well. When others put em down I just back off and think"you don't know what your missing". They won't displace the 1911 as my favorite handgun but, they are my protector and everyday carry, We trust our live with ours.
It has been a great joy to be on this forum and further our knowledge a of these fine firearms. Thanks everyone on here and keep up the great work support these fine guns.

I have nothing but good things to say about my T100. I do not get too tired of answering questions and nodding when I hear "never heard of them". The secret is to just let them look at it closely and shoot it. Then the questions change tone. I chose the T100 over the C-100 based on "different" appearance only. They are the same gun in feel and function.

It was great out of the box. I tinkered just because I wanted to. I do not carry mine often as I have a Sig P938 and lightweight 1911, but it serves as a house gun, range, and something for my idle hands to mess with. Mine is 3 1/2 # SA only homebrew trigger, springs, polish, appearance sake hammer mod, grips. Not at all finicky about ammunition or magazines. I do shoot more accurate pistols but it still performs more than well enough for home defense. I also shoot guns that are not 100% reliable, costing 3-5 times $...this one is, always has been. That reliability is priceless. Finish etc has held up very well.

I would like some feedback on dimpling slide in couple places to snug up barrel. I read somewhere that it was worth doing. It does not NEED snugging, but I have the pistol, a vice and a punch....

My Canik/TriStar T120 has been sweetly accurate and very very reliable, so far, and I expect that to continue.  I love how well made it is and I enjoy shooting it.
I have considered also getting a T100 for carry, and may do so, down the budget line.

On a different vein, my Canik TP9 V1 has also been absolutely stellar in reliability and accuracy, and has made it into my carry rotation.

When it comes down to accuracy my P120 is the tops for me. I just get a dumb grin in my soul when I shoot it. One sweet handgun!

I had a T-120 and the fit and finish was outstanding. It was also very accurate and reliable. I sold it so I could buy something else. I think I made a mistake.
I regret that I didn't install a CGW 3 spring kit in my T-120. I bet the results would have been fantastic.

I have the Shark FC, S120, T120, P120, P100, T100, and I even have the TP9SA.  I haven't had any serious issues with any of them and like shooting them all.  The T100 does have some issues with the cerakote, but since I've not seen any others with the issues I've had (and the other Caniks don't have it) I figured it's just a fluke with this particular gun.  I'm not worried about it because it shoots so well.

I love my P120 and maybe would have agreed with you a year ago but there are some pretty smokin deals out there right now.

I shoot a CZ TS and Tanfo Match Xtreme in competition, yet I trust my P-100 for carry and bed side duty!

Love my Canik P-100 and TP9SF Elite, but IMO, the best bang for the buck at the moment is the Sarsilmaz CM9.

Talk about value! Fantastic pistol for the price. 👍🏼

I have one of the first 50's to make the US as I wanted CZ PCR but did not want decocker and at the time it was as close as it would get. It's in the hard chrome, carried daily for years and still looks and shoot like new.
When did it change from "We the people" to "screw the people"?

Why use 911 when it's faster to use 1911 or 9mm?

I just picked up a TP9 SFX from the staff drawing at my sectional match.   So far, it's the gun a Glock 34 should have been, but for less money.
Don't mistake my high post count for knowledge or wisdom.   I just like hearing myself type.

Just picked up a SFX for nightstand duty. First range trip produced an accurate reliable pistol. It's going back to the range every day this week. If no problems, then night duty it is.
