Set trigger weights
« on: July 17, 2017, 12:53:08 AM »
I've had my 308 550 Varmint for nearly 10 years now. It sits in the 750 stock, Bushnell Elite G2DMR glass
First scope was a Leupold 6-18x40. My first good group
was my first attempt at loading for the rifle, 168 SMK over 42.4gr Varget @ 2.815". 5 shots 0.375" off a crap plastic rest at Parma Woods. But, I wanted more zoom, so I got the Bushie.
I regularly get sub half MOA groups, best being a 3 shot 0.675" at 300 with my 150gr Sierra #2125 Spitzer whitetail loads.  But, on to the trigger... I have it set at 10oz. Which I absolutely LOVE. I could probably get it down to 8 oz, but I'm happy with 10.

Where do you have yours set?

The set trigger on my 527M breaks at about 10 oz., as well.  To be honest, though, once I got the "regular" trigger tuned to my liking I rarely ever use the set function as I find the overtravel distracting.  Unset it breaks at 2 1/4 lbs but the combination of no noticeable creep and minimal overtravel makes it the sweetest trigger on any of my rifles.
