New Sars K2 45
« on: July 20, 2017, 08:21:41 PM »
Bought a new SARS K2 45 about a month ago.  Like the gun a lot and have about 500 rounds through it with the majority being reloads.
Having said this I do have a problem with it.  Every few magazine it fails to feed the final bullet into the chamber.  Sometimes the slide locks back with a round still in the magazine other times the bullet starts to feed but never makes it fully into the chamber and the gun jams.  It doesn't matter if the magazine is full or if I only half fill it.
I keep the gun very clean and the magazine has been disassembled and cleaned.  The magazine was made in Italy so it hopefully is a Mec Gar.
The strange and frustrating part is it only happens every 5-6 magazines.  Other than this the gun has been flawless.  When full I trust it to shoot 13.
Any ideas would be appreciated.  :o

Welcome to the Forum and Congratulations on your new SAR K2-45!  8)   :)

I also have an SAR K2-45, but I've not experienced too many feeding issues to date, other than it does seem to be a bit balky feeding my Flat Pointed 200 grain Reloads using X-Treme Bullets.
For some reason it's always been the very last round in the Magazine.  I have been planning to Polish the Barrel Chamber entry area a bit, but have yet to get around to it.

Same happens to me. A random bullet with fail to fully seat into the barrel. It seems to happen to one mag only, or so I think.  A lot of people say it's the mag and not the gun.  People will swap the mag spring with a stronger spring.  I think its a Pata P-14 extra power spring or something like that.   I bet someone will correct me shortly if I'm wrong.

I had the exact thing happen on a tristar and it drove me nuts. I kept thinking my wife was limp wristing and that is what was causing it but then I was able to reproduce it. Tristar sent me a new slide stop and wala .. never happened again. Im not sure but I think the issue is the tension at the slidestop spring. Perhaps the notch isnt cut deep enough. I just no I havent had the problem again.
