Thordsen Customs EVO Adapter and AR15 Grips
« on: August 26, 2017, 05:41:20 PM »
While this is not the perfect / inexpensive solution to the lack of grip options for the CZ Scorpion, it does work well and it gives you more options.

I was not not impressed by the current pistol grip offerings for the CZ Scorpion. While browsing thru various grip options on Google Images, I stumbled upon the Thordsen Customs EVO Adapter. Since Thordsen stocks are designed to fit a standard AR15 lower and this adapter is made to fit a Thordsen stock to a Scorpion EVO, I thought that I'd take a chance and see how it would work with a AR15 pistol grip.

Most of the AR15 pistol grips are not going to change the angle of the grip. But the Magpul K2+ does provide a steeper angle that I find comfortable.  It's not a perfect fit. I had to file a little off the grip so that the edge just above the finger well does not rub against my index finger.

That's a cool product... but that price is crazy.

It's not inexpensive. But it is solid. it's machined out of aluminum. This is going to add to the cost / weight of the adapter.

The adapter is also available from CZ Custom:

I tried another brand and wasn't impressed. Needed a trigger finger long enough to make a space alien proud for it to be comfortable

Seems like it makes the grip too low and unnatural. Cool concept though.

Been thinking about the same thing for a long time. Maybe the MOE-K grip let's your thumb rest higher?

As others have said, you need to have long finders or a big hand when using the Thordsen Customs EVO Adapter and the Magpul K2+ grip. So I decided to try the Hogue 15 degree vertical no finger groove polymer grip with a Handall beavertail grip sleeve.

Spent some time at the range today and the bestway to describe how the grip felt is that "it just disappeared". Once I started shooting, I no longer thought about the grip. It was comfortable...

Yes, this is more expensive than the aftermarket grips built specifically for the Scorpion. But I'm happy with the outcome.

If you're saying you like it, then rock and roll.  But it adds like 2 steps where the web of you hand goes, drops your grip even lower, and costs a bundle.

No matter what folks think of that setup... anything is better than the factory wrist-acher grip.
