Magazine holster for p07 mags
« on: September 08, 2017, 08:05:10 PM »
Please forgive me if this has been covered before. I'm new to concealed carry and am looking for a mag carrier for my p07. Are there any you would recommenced? Are there any brands I should avoid?

I've had several holsters and mag carriers, both IWB and OWB, made by TR Holsters.  They bend kydex for the P-07/10.  Short lead times but they also list in-stock items in their ebay store.
More info in review I wrote up a while back:

Kytex OWB carriers are quite good and affordable.

For IWB I use a couple of T. Rex Arms carriers that can be switched between IWB and OWB if the need arises.

JM Custom Kydex. Hands down the best kydex guy around. I used to make kydex holsters and mag pouches so I'm picky about whose kydex products I buy. Tony is my go to guy for all my holster/pouch needs.

I totally agree ... the only time I stray is when I need something he doesn't offer (yet...)

I have mostly leather adjustable mag carriers, such as the excellent High Noon stuff, but I alos use an el cheapie Uncle Mikes single mag pouch sometimes. I need a double for the P-10C that has a sweat shield all the way up the back.

Nifty. You just put that together for grins and giggles? I might have to buy it off you.  8)  ;D
I like a sweat shield that covers the metal as I have acidic sweat and Arizona causes some sweating here and there. The back of the mag holder - is it bare kydex, or could it be lined with some soft leather for fat guts? I carry concealed under a loose t-shirt in summertime. The only one I have is from a company that went under well over ten years ago. Did you know in all that time I didn't have a single photo of it? Just now, shows a LOT of honest wear. :) P-10C and magazine for comparison.

That mag holder has been adjusted for the P-09, the Phantom, the P-07, and was originally made for the P-01.

If you can read the stamp, that's Hazel Gun Leather from Colorado. That WAS a while ago!

Yup. I was in the shop and figured I'd throw one together to show you. I actually had that mold custom made with the taller backside because I too prefer it. This one is adjustable and the list of mags it doesn't fit is longer than the ones it does. Here's a confirmed list....

CZ P07/P09/P10C
CZ 75/85/SP01
CZ P01/PCR/RAMI
CZ CZ100
CZ Kadet .22 Mags
FN FNS9
FN FN509
Glock 17/19/22/23/25/26/27/28/31/32/33
HK VP9
Sig P226/229
Sig P320
S&W M&P All double stack 9mm/40S&W
Springfield xD/xDM
Walther P99/PPQ/PPX
Beretta 92/M9
Beretta PX4

Backside is bare kydex. You could certainly add some soft suede or something like that to it.

I don't imagine there is much retention left in that old girl!

Thanks for all the input everyone. A friend sent me a single and a double Remora mag holster to try out. For now I am carrying the single in my front pocket. I had hoped to use the double in my front pocket with a knife or light in the other slot. Unfortunately it's a little too wide for the pockets of the shorts I'm wearing today. Maybe it would work with regular jeans. Eventually I'm going to try one iwb also, but my current pants are a little too snug for that. I'm really curious to find out if it will really stay put without a clip.
