CZ97 BD decocker issue
« on: September 14, 2017, 11:20:03 PM »
This past weekend bought a 97 BD NIB at a local gun show. Wednesday put 75 rounds through it with outstanding accuracy. Love the gun with one exception. The decocker is hanging up about 90% of the time. Just enough that I have to touch it to make it return to proper position. Anyone else have the same issue? If so how did you correct it. Really don't want to send it in.

Give the gun a good cleaning and lube. If the decocker doesn't loosen up after that and function 100% you'll need to have CZ-USA correct it.

I was afraid of that. Already tried cleaning & lubrication. No change.

Can you give us some more details about what is going on? Are you not able to manipulate the decocker? Is the hammer not falling to half cock? Binding?

About 10 to 15% of the time the decocker works exactly as designed. The majority of the time however the decocker does not drop the hammer when activated. The decocker sticks in the down position and a light touch to the bottom of the decocker causes it to return to its proper position while dropping the hammer. It seems to be improving as I continue to repeatedly work it tonight. Perhaps it needs to work in. I intend to work it a couple of hundred times before my next range trip to see.
