P01 Omega in IDPA
« on: September 18, 2017, 09:59:05 PM »
Took my P01 Omega to one of the local IDPA matches and had a hoot. Was impressed with the speed I was able to transition between targets and double tap targets. I won my division and came in 5th overall. Was a fun day.

While I'm known for shooting revolvers at the local matches, I decided to shoot my CGW upgraded P01 this season. I am convinced the ergos of the P01 and the Cajun magic CGW applied are what helped me succeed.

I am consistently impressed with this gun.

Are you shooting CCP?  If so are you using the decockers?  It is too wide with safeties, isn't it?

Actually, one of my IDPA pet peeves is that the width restrictions eliminate some two side safety guns from CCP.   Being left handed, I don't really have the option of using a single sided safety CZ or 1911 in CCP without filing safeties.

Actually shot in SSP as you correctly asserted it's too wide for CCP. I would like to shoot it CCP, as it really is perfect size, save for the width due to the decockers

Love mine with the full CGW kit.  There is just something about it that is hard to describe.  It flat out works.

Another successful day with my P01 Omega. Was fairly successful given my skill level, ending in the upper half overall and in my division. Gun performed superbly, no malfunctions at all.

IDPA ought to change the width restrictions in CCP (and BUG) to accommodate ambi safeties.  The P 01 ought to be the perfect CCP piece.

I believe the safeties could be trimmed a bit and still be OK for CCP.

I agree, it?s the perfect CCP gun IMHO

Re milling some material of the levers to fit the box, I discussed this w/ David from CGW and he recommended against it
