Help identify my cz please
« on: September 28, 2017, 10:27:27 PM »
I've recently come across this cz75 and am not to sure exactly what model it is. I'll attach pictures if I can but above the extractor is marked 00 so I assume it's a 2000 production. The slide is stamped cz75d compact. But what confused me was the frame is indeed aluminum. Magnet will not stick. The butt has the lanyard loop the front strap has serations. To me I thought PCR had those. I'm new to the cz game so any help would be VERY much appreciated

That is the same as the P-01.  The slide on your gun was stamped CZ 75D Compact because it was meant for the European market.  Sometimes CZ diverts those to the US to meet demand. The only difference is the stamp on the slide. My brother in law just picked one of these up as well.

If I'm looking for parts for this gun do I need to look for 75 or p01? Like some trigger work or sights?

All of the internals and the sights are the same as the P-01.

It is a PCR slide, so you would need the PCR sights if you ever changed them.

Is there a difference between PCR sights and p01 sights?

Same dovetail.  It's just that the PCR slide has a little cut out/shelf in front of the rear sight to fit the tapered PCR rear sight.  Thay make aftermarket rear sight just for the PCR to fill the shelf in like the factory sight.  But, any CZ 75 sight (except for the shadow sights) will work if you don't mind seeing the PCR shelf.

^^^^^ what Viking499 said.
Congrats, you have a somewhat of an oddity. As was stated, the 75D is both the P01, and PCR. Typically your slide would have gone on a non rail aluminum frame. I've also seen them the other way around, the (75D) P01 slide (no shelf on the rear sight) on the non rail frame. I think it's cool, I like oddities. [emoji16][emoji87]

Thanks for the photos. You can see it?s like one of the surplus D Compacts that have come into the market the past few years. Features often include being made at the turn of the century, a ?T? inside a circle proof mark, the low profile sights that are commonly found on the current PCR, sometimes a less-tall decocker lever compared to current decockers, and the slot on the rail has only a cut on both sides that does not go all the way across. I don?t have any experience with the sights on this batch; hopefully it?s the same exact cut as the current PCRs for your purposes but you never know with CZ sometimes. It would not have sold to that overseas buyer back then labeled as either the P01 or PCR as those names were meant for the US market. It would have been simply a CZ 75 D Compact as marked on the slide. Nice find.

I have the same combo.  I have always purchased P01 parts, to include sights, with no issues.  I love this little gun, it has been with me for 10 years and 10s of Ks of rounds. Great find!  Unique!
