P-07 Range report
« on: September 30, 2017, 08:49:53 PM »
After giving it a good cleaning, replacing stock parts with CGW #18 spring, firing pin spring, reduced power trigger return spring and the firing pin retaining pin took it for some bang bang.
About 450 rounds shot. Federal and federal alu, Tula, Federal HST 124 and Hornady Critical Duty. Not a single issue. This thing is absolutely amazing.
First 50-60 rounds I though that the sights might be off cause I was shooting slightly to the left but one of the instructors on site told me just to keep going if this is my first hammer fired gun.
In the end I was able to shot consecutive headshots at 25 yards.
I got few thumbs up as apparently not many people have seen then version with threaded barrel and I also got one guy telling me how 9 is inferior and that I have a tacticool target plinker :D
Since everything is running smooth I'm gonna install the comp and head again tomorrow.

On a side note there was a lady next to me shooting her Sig 938. Since I really do not like (that means I have trouble shooting my carry G43 and even after 800 rounds still can't get used to it which means that placing that first shot from draw in the center is not a given thing) my G43 I asked her if I could shoot a few rounds. We swapped guns and oh man that little sig is amazing. Just feels right compared to my glock. Once I finish posting this my G43 is going on sale :).
I shot 18 rounds on that sig while that lady went through entire box of 50 with the P-07 and a big grin on her face :D

Great day. Love my CZ!

Voodoo: That ignoramus that told you 9mm is inferior has no notion the damage that a 124 grain HST can do.

I still like my Glock 17 (highly modified) but I like my Cajunized P-07 just a bit better ;D

Outstanding
I just got pretty much all the same CGW stuff as you installed today
Hoping to get to the range tomorrow
Loved the gun before and it feels better already, if the 9 is that improved might have to do the same thing to the 40
Can't wait

The guy that told you 9mm is inferior has never seen anyone shot with 9mm. Back in the day we were limited to 9mm ball. Very hot ball it was made for use in the Uzi, you would be surprised at the damage headshots with this will do.

My P07 is on the way to Cajun for some love and magic.

WHy didn't you do it yourself? P-07 and 09 are the easiest guns around to work on yourself. Don't get me wrong cajun does nice work. But you could have done it by yourself in a few hrs or less. Just a thought if you buy another one

Agree on this.
I never disassembled a gun past field cleaning before buying the CZ but figured that if I am about to have aftermarket parts in it I need to know what?s what.
Two YouTube videos and $30 worth of tools all it took me to do the basic stuff.
It really is easy as long as you don?t rush and have some patience.

Why didn't I buy the parts and do it?

I wanted 1 P 07  done by the masters.

After the first of the year when I have some more time, I will buy the parts kit and do my P09 myself.

I wanted the P07 milled for RDS and since it is going to be in CGW, do the whole thing.

I will then view it like I view my Davis company Cougar, My Novak Hi Power and my Cylinder and Slide Hi Power.

Gotcha.
I though you were just doing part swaps.
I was gonna mill mine as well but that P938 I had the chance to shoot mesmerized me.
I got it today and I love it. Now I have to sell the G43 as gun budget = $0 :D

I talked to CGW today and I have to say great customer service.

I can't wait to get my P07 back from them.

Then my P09 will go to them, I have changed my mind about doing it myself. I am a busy guy, with business from as far south as the Dominican Republic, to opening a new business in the next few weeks in Florida and then the DC, Virginia, and Maryland area. So it will cost me a little money to have the masters do my P09 and also mill the slide.

Yoni, I have RMRs (the dual illuminated models) on my P07 and P09.

Just makes a great pistol even better.

You'll like it, a lot.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

My eyes started to keep me from shooting my best in my mid 40's. So in early 2001 I bought a Dr. Optic and started to play with it on a Glock 34. It became my carry pistol, then my son took my Dr. Optic and he still runs it on his carry gun. That was I think around 2007 I have been running an RMR since then on my carry Glock.

Now the Glocks are going to the back of the safe and it is P07/09 for life. When someone makes a RDS that would look good on my Hi Powers then I will start shooting them again and maybe even carrying them.

We had a DP Pro installed on my wife's CZ 75 Compact, it does look "awkward" sticking off so far out on both sides of the slide.

She loves it, it sure does look funny though.

I?m actually very lucky that I didn?t send my slide to get the optic mounted.
I bought the Romeo 5 for my rifle and unfortunately my astigmatism makes it look like a squashed bug instead of a dot.
If you never tried one I strongly suggest to check it somewhere before spending all that money.

I have two P-07s and like them. One is a range gun/backup.    ;D
Mine are stock and I like them that way, some like to mod them just like anything.
