Thanks. The sight picture is what I figured. Holding at 6 o'clock makes it easier for me to focus on the transition from the black bullseye and the rest of the white.  The combat hold sight picture  covering the target makes it hard for me to maintain the same aiming point trying to guess if I'm exactly in the middle of the black. I just trimmed my cover plate lower side and notches until it didn't contact the rear insert as I pushed down on the cover plate and slowly moved the slide forward to the locked battery position.  I had to take a little more off than earlan357 did but there is no way it can catch on the insert now.  CZ's fix with the slope should work well also, and not leave a gap like mine does.  I'll try it this morning, but I expect the gun to continue to run just fine.

Joe

I in no way was trying to insult your HOME remedy. I did something very similar to mine but it wasn't enough to "FIX" the overall problem with it.
I hope it is enough to keep yours running and gunning, ;D.

As to the CZites, You guys sure are quick to bash some people. Heck , all I did was ask if this was a new updated part from CZ in a different kind of way.  I want to see a REAL "FIX" from CZ also, not just a cough drop for the Flu.

Maybe it?s just me...but this isn?t a cough drop for the flu or a temporary fix. This is not a $2000 target pistol. It?s a $500 or less self defense pistol. If it solves the problem of the plate moving down and causing the slide to stop out of battery, it?s fixed. They don?t have to come up with an expensive slide replacement, just a way to keep the slide plate from catching on the slide. It?s a much better fix than my hand filed plate. ALL it has to do is keep the pistol running. That?s it. I?m far more concerned with the firing pin tips breaking. Who knows if there is a serial number range for the affected firing pins or not?
I do believe they should step up and make extra plates for all the pistols that don?t have the update. Same for firing pins. Figure out the problem, fix it, send out replacements. Done.
Remember, Glocks have issues too there were changes made and life goes on. Hopefully.

It's you... when you sit down and think about it, all this "fix" does is simply aid the backplate into place..IT DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM.. The striker is still free to rotate, and the backplate is still free to slide down.. It is a bandaid at best.. if you want to fix it, once and for all then you'll need to make the plastic sleeve which rides against the backplate, lock into the backplate itself.. This could be easily done and would require a minor change to the molds that make these parts..If this was done, you'd kill two birds with one stone.. A. You'd stop the backplate from sliding down, and B. You'd stop the striker rotation..Hopefully this is just a bandaid until they can come up with a real fix..

Only proves he got lucky with the P10. My slide got stuck constantly and had misfeeds. Sold it.

Had occasion to call CZ-USA Warranty Service today to make sure my replacement striker was mailed out on Friday which it was. While I had them on the line I asked about some of the modifications forum members have done to try to eliminate the so called "fatal flaw" and was told that any modifications done by anyone other than CZ-USA Warranty Service definitely voids the warranty on the P-10. That's definitely a deal breaker for me. So far my only issue has been the tip breaking off the striker and according the CZ-USA Warranty Service those occurrences have been few and far between. Can't wait to get my replacement striker so I can get back to the range.

So they are going to BLACKBALL anyone for trying to keep there pistol running and doing almost nothing to it? A plastic part.
That response is VERY telling of this company as a whole then!
Mine is at CZ right now for the 'FLAW",
When will they be informing me that my pistol is being held for ransom? This is headed down a VERY DARK PATH.....
I fear people will start to Scream across the whole web if this is the case, But Corporations just kinda laugh at this kind of thing, I guess

I don't think that CZ is different than any other manufacturer when it comes to customers modifying their products. I don't consider this a form of BLACKBALLING but simply company policy especially in the case of handguns. If this becomes a wide spread issue, CZ will have no choice but to find a resolution to the problem. The P-10 is very new and like most new models there are some issues in the beginning. Don't get me wrong I do understand your frustration but I believe CZ Warranty Service will stand behind their product and do the right thing. I for one am not ready to jump ship at this time. There is much to much to like about the new P-10 to give up at this point especially for me since I have not experienced the "fatal flaw". Just waiting to get my new striker so I can get back to the range and enjoy this excellent shooting 9mm.

Replaced with- Ruger, S&W, Gluck, HK, and some others?   I don't think they're willing to buy people out of the "FLAWED" P10c.
Repaired with- Same Lame engineering, I don't think they'll win any points that way either.
BUT This is only one mans opinion that will be stepped on soon enough within a few posts anyway...

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

My opinion is that you appear to have not given the manufacturer an opportunity to fix the problem with your particular firearm.

My hope is that the manufacturer fixes the problem to your satisfaction and that it helps you change your opinion of them and your firearm.  Nobody likes to have a "lemon" of a product. Not the manufacturer.  Not the consumer.  At least give them the chance to fix it before completely writing them and your firearm off.

Perhaps if you gave them time to fix the problem and get it back to you before you get so agitated? This is most certainly not the first time a brand new gun has had issues - remember the HK USPs? Relax, and just stay in contact with CZ.

I would'nt worry about it too much..That's the standard warranty dept response, designed to stop people from fiddling around with things they should'nt be, in their opinion. As far as the fatal flaw goes, I figure if CZ dosen't fix it  beyond a modified backplate, someone like CGW or CZC,  will take the bull by the horns, and fix it for them..and make a nice chunk of change in the process....

...literally EVERY company has this policy. Modify the gun with parts that aren't OEM - warranty is gone. Plain and simple.
However, most companies - including CZ from my experience - will still warranty a firearm if the non OEM part had nothing to do with whatever broke. But they don't have to. They're pretty explicit about it non OEM work/parts voiding the warranty. This is nothing new at all.

And I'm not just taking up for CZ as a fanboy. I personally hate the P-10. It's underwhelming.

Some P-10's have problems. Plain and simple. Just because your particular pistol is problem free doesn't mean a thing. There's an apparent issue with some of them and it seems that CZ is definitely making it right when they're informed of it on said pistols.

This all sounds like Ruger letting the customer do its beta testing for them.  The last Ruger without problems I owned was the P95. I'll wait a couple of years before looking seriously at buying a P10c. It worked for the P-07.

CZ tested the P-10 extensively before release. At the end of the day, running a hand full of pistols for thousands of rounds at the factory is still not going to catch every bug. It's simply not the same as when thousands of people get their hands on thousands of guns and start shooting them.

Glock still releases guns with issues and their design is 30+ bleep years old. They literally haven't deviated from it a bit. The P-10 is a brand new design for CZ.

Very true. I was very uninterested in the P-10C when they introduced it, but now I am quite fond of mine, carry it often. Still carry the Cajunized Phantom, too. ;)
I remember when the P-07 came out and problems started to be reported...CZ-UB were flabbergasted, saying they had tested it to destruction and couldn't understand what was going on. I said, you should have Americans test them - we can break anything! They flew tech teams out to the US specifically to do nothing but fix P07 pistols, which is why the P-07 DUTY is a rarity, but the P-07, incorporating upgrades with the P-09, is all over the place. ;)  I think the P-10C had, as RB said, a handful of pistols tested extensively, and then released, not to have us "beta test" deliberately, but because the one they had worked just fine. Then we Americans got ahold of them and, voila! We found the bugs.
As I stated in my video, I am aware of some pistols with the bug, and many aren't. If you have a pistol with the bg, send it in to CZ for the cure. And wait for a moment...they are NOT sitting on thier hands ignoring the issue, this much I can 100% personally promise you, things are moving.
