557 Sporter?
« on: October 23, 2017, 03:10:09 PM »
Anyone have one?  I'm thinking about getting one in 30.06 for a deer rifle. I see them on websites for 550 shipped. Seems awful cheap.

I've never really been a strong bolt-action guy though I have owned some really nice ones, recently picked up a 455 and then a month later a 527....don't be fooled that inexpensive means cheap with CZ's.  They are very well made and accurate firearms.....just appreciate the gift   ;)

Yeah, what he said. With CZs, good value does not equate to "cheap" and all the connotations that go with that word. CZs are high quality firearms.

I didn't mean cheap as in low quality. The 30.06 is a couple hundred bucks less than other calibers. found that a little odd

US$550 equates to about Aus$700. I wish I could buy one for that money, about this time last year my 550 (.270Win) set me back over Aus$1,340 once licensing fees were added - that's about US$1045 at current rates. Aus$1170 for the rifle alone.
Money well spent. :)

WOW!  thanks for the reality check about how 'good' we got it here..  get this,  last night I was thinking I should buy the other 2 Cz550 in 30-06 at my LGS, they at 550$ US, brand new,  ( I bought the 1 w/ best wood),  as they so incredible performance and outstanding deal on market / compared to Gunbroker... ( I buy from Gunbroker too, fyi).
but thanks letting ' us here in US" how good we got it.

CZ's ROCK!

Just to update I didn't end up getting the 557 my buddy did though. It's a fantastic rifle. When we were sighting it in. I gave it a try and put the round touching the same hole he just made at hundred yards. With S&B ammo shooting off a bag.
