CZ 806 Bren 2
« on: October 30, 2017, 11:53:02 AM »
Guys,

What?s the latest on the CZ 806 Bren 2 semi-auto hitting being available for civilian purchase in the United States?  The last thing I saw was the below video (which I presume was 2017 SHOT Show) which stated late 2018.  Anyone know anything different?

Adaptable to a 7.62.  Like the flexible Sig MCX Virtus.

Well, when I sent an email to CZ USA asking that very question, here was their response.  Italics, bold & underline are mine.

Loren,

The Bren 2 for the US civilian market is years out due to the Czech military having contract precedence from our manufacturer. From there, civilian variant production will begin and eventually include the US market. We have no information regarding specifications, ETA, production numbers, or pricing at this time.

Thanks,

Please show me where I can find the parts!

All I can find are parts for the .300 BO for the MCX. Cool cartridge, but I am knee deep in 7.62x39

I would love a Bren 2 in 762x39 but in 762 NATO would be AMAZING. Finally there'd be a serious modular battle rifle to compete with the Scar 17.

While I dream of an 806, I have purchased an 805.

My Indoor range in north Atlanta (Sharpshooters) just picked up the F/A 806 as a rental. Got a chance to try it out - much lighter than the 805 - shockingly so and more refined ethos for sure. That said, it also felt allot more toy-like - much more similar to allot of modern guns. Kind of feel like my 805 SBR is a throwback. Built like a tank, great machining and something you'll have for 50 years regardless of service. Matt

I can totally live with a ?throwback?.  As my beloved wife is so fond of reminding me, I am a Neanderthal, which undoubtedly qualifies me as a throwback.  So, the 805 and I, like brothers from another Mother.  8)
