CZ Shadow 2 Urban Grey vs Standard Black
« on: October 30, 2017, 06:30:32 PM »
I am looking at getting either a CZ Shadow 2 but I can decide between the Urban Grey 9mm and the standard black. I have seen the standard black in person but there are no Urban Grays in my area. Looking at the Urban Grey in some pics it looks more brown than gray but in other photos it has more of a true gray tone.

Does anyone have it and can they shed some light or color on the subject?

This looks gray to my eyes.

This looks brownish.

Look on Youtube for a pretty good idea.  The couple videos I saw looked gray.

Look on Youtube for a pretty good idea.  The couple videos I saw looked gray.

From what I can see it is very light dependent. Lenses for video or static pics will yield different results in different lighting but I guess what I am trying to determine is what does it look like to the naked eye. I understand the "urban gray" is a mix of gray and brown which accounts for the images I am seeing.

Anyone have urban gray CZ in their hand. I would love to hear a description of what they are seeing when they hold the pistol.

The one I fondled at the gun store was a light, warm gray color.

I have my Urban Grey on the desk as I type this.
Looks Grey to me. I don't really like the full length dust
cover but it is a nice pistol. Found it NIB at a Pawn Shop in KY
and it cost me $1144.95 + 6% tax. I've been using it in USPSA Limited
and IDPA NFC. It shoots Blue Bullets 147FP and Berry's 147FP with 3.5 gr HP38.
Shoots a lot better than I do. I have 1300+ rnds through it so far w/o a jam.
Mainly the 147FP but a few 115 JHP's. I don't like rails. The CZ 75 SA is my favorite.
I do like the two tone guns with the blue slide and stainless/grey frame.
Racking the slide is a problem. You almost have to use the forward serriations.
I'm glad I bought it.

Not a shadow but I?ve got a P01 and 75B in UG and going off the color chart a couple posts up they are closest to the Lightest cool grey but with an almost very very light greenish tint

Many people that see mine love the color, but personally, depending on the day I either love it or wish they were blued/Black

Definitely grey, not brown. Hopefully you verified that already.

Urban Grey is a unique mix of FDE and grey, which results in its warm grey overall color.  It?s very similar to the first warm grey color in the image posted above, in my opinion.

Yeah seems it is a blended color. I think I will go for it. Love a two-tone gun!

I'd offer to post a photo after I pick mine up tomorrow, but with the lighting variations, and the questionable calibration of monitors, that still may not help. Either way, it's a good looking firearm.

Here is a photo of my Urban Grey next to my black for comparison and a few of its details.  The Urban Grey one just came back in stock at GAG.

Yep, definitely a warm gray.  I personally would want a cool gray.

Now that I have one, it is definitely a warm grey with a hint of tan under certain lighting.
