P07 Trigger - did something change?
« on: October 31, 2017, 03:28:36 PM »
So I was re-reading the article Mike Pannone wrote that sparked the small craze for the P07.  He wrote that article based on a "Gen 1" P07.  He states that the OTB trigger was 6.75 LBS in DA and 3.28 LBS in SA.  Now, I see MANY reviews and they all start well over 10 LBS, (I won't labor my own experience).

Did something change, or did Mike get lucky in 2013???  Anyone own both and experience this?  Thanks.

My first CZ was a DUTY P07 in .40 S&W.  Bone stock inside.  SA trigger pull is 3&1/4 lbs.  DA is about 8.5.

My second CZ was a P09 in 9MM.  Bone stock inside.  SA trigger pull runs 3&3/4 lbs. and DA is just under 9 lbs.

Both of these were measured about a year ago but I haven't checked them lately (to see if use is lightening them up any).

I think you can get "good" and "bad" with just about anything manufactured.

I know the trigger shape has changed (a couple of times) since the original P07 DUTY trigger, but that's trigger shape, not internal geometry or springs.

If something has changed, I'll bet the guys at CGW and CZ Custom would have seen it with all the upgrades they do for customers.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

My first P-07 Duty, now DAO, originally had an 8.75# DA/3.75# SA pull. My second Duty model was 9.25# DA/4.5# SA. And the "2014" P-07 model was around 10# DA/5# SA.

My Gen2 P07 hasn't had the trigger pull measured, but in DA it is significantly heavier than my 85B. I'd say 10 pounds or better.

My new P07 measured a 12# DA pull and 4# SA pull after a few hundred rounds. DA pull didn't feel "bad" per se, but it wasn't even in the neighborhood of butter smooth and 9#'s. Some disassembly, little bit of polishing, and a little CGW help has turned it into a very good DA trigger. Wasn't it the owner of CGW that said out of every 10 CZ pistols, he could make 7 with an amazing trigger, 2 with a very good one, and 1 that was "meh." I think I'm in the very good category. No complaints though. I will take it over a Sig any day of the week... for nearly half the price of some Sigs.
