7.5 FK BRNO Field Pistol....1911/CZ Hybrid....pretty neat!

Just came across this.....from what I've read its origins are based on a 1911/CZ hybrid design of sorts, which I can believe based on how it looks.....and its got its own unique caliber to boot, looks almost like a 357 Sig-ish round, but I don't know the exact specs on it yet.....enjoy

did some quick "hammer & chisel" calculations based on case dimensions and, yes it is very close to a 357 Sig round with 95-105gr bullets.........just an FYI

Except that it pushes a 95 grain bullet at 2,000+ fps!

I should clarify.....dimensions are very similar......the fps is substantially higher 357 Sig @ 1450fps.......7.5 FX @ 2000fps......it'll get to its target pretty quick!

Funny how 7.62x25 came about so long ago and then it?s basically rehashed as the 357 sig and 7.5, not that they aren?t improvements over the tok.  I just see it as like 6.5x55 Swiss and 6.5 creedmore.  One came first and it was a wrecking ball of a round but now you got the same round ballistically in a smaller package.  In the cas elf 357 sig it is also pushing a 30 grain  heavier bullet compared to either the tok or 7.5

Details, details...did you see how sexy this gun looks, to even speak of the price is not allowed  that said....MSRP $7500.....ammo cost $1.50/rd.......I guess it?s an exotic firearm class.....still got to appreciate the artistic value   

There are some good videos on YouTube, it gets great reviews.....maybe give it a couple years and see if it gets down to a high end custom 1911 price point

As for the cartridge, I would guess it is closer to 9x25 Dillon. Just necked down to a smaller bullet. They say it is a new case though. Underwood loads the 90 gr Xtreme Defender in a 9x25 Dillon and it is advertised at 2000 FPS. I'd assume their case is new and different to take a little more powder or pressure but I haven't done that level or research yet.

HAHA I see someone else likes to arbitrarily use the +sign, glad I?m not alone.  You have to admit though it is pretty cool and interesting to watch caliber progression as the new are basically the same as the old but the overall sizes get smaller and more compact and efficient, ever pushing the frontier of ballistics to new places.

I have been trying to chase one down for 6 months now.

Only 2 dealers supposedly in US, and neither can give any concrete info, at least as of a few moths ago last time i  made the rounds. 

The only info I received was the MSRP of $7,500 and they they were trying to get manufacturing and ammo production here in US.

Anyone know any different?

The Borchardt pistol was commercialized by DWM, so it made sense to use the same case size in the development of the C96 (since Mauser and DWM were part of the same company). The C96 was designed for significantly higher pressure cartridges.

Military Arms Channel has one, is very excited, and has either made or is almost done making a video on the gun. It's huge, that's for certain, might be a good hunting pistol as well as oversize carry gun.
