Omega Question
« on: December 01, 2017, 12:23:49 PM »
Are all the PCR and P01 models Omega? Are all the 75s not. There is a lot of cz variations and I am just curious.

No they aren't all Omega. The Omega trigger was brought about some years back, CZ seems to be integrating it into many of their guns now....There are many variables so to be sure you need to take each gun and see what trigger it has and how old it is.

The only metal framed compact (that I know of) with the omega system are the Omega P01's.  No PCRs or CZ 75 compacts, so far

So far they've made some full sized CZ 75's with the omega trigger system.  I don't think any SP01's or other full sized metal framed pistols have been made with the omega system, either.

You can go to the CZ USA website and look at the various models/descriptions.

Also, if you are looking at pistols at a gun store or gun show the omega models will have the little greek alphabet letter for omega on the side of the slide.  See it, right after the P01 on this slide.

I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I think all those P01 models like yours pictured above are with the Omega trigger, but most of the regular P01's aren't. Btw, how do you like that gun? I have been looking at it. Ended up going with the SDP, from czcustom, but the threaded barrel would be nice to have.

I really like the way if feels in my hand.  Not sure why.  I carry a CZ 75 Compact, sometimes, and they should feel the same, but the P01 just feels better.

As for accuracy?  Can't tell a difference.  I don't carry the P01, it sits by my chair, with the light on it.  If someone rings the doorbell/knocks on the door after dark, the P01 is in my hand when I walk to the door.  Same for daylight, if I don't recognize them.

Only had two issues with it.  The front night sight stopped working about a year ago.  CZ USA took care of that real quick.  The other issue was an occasional failure to feed that left a round jammed nose first into the feed ramp.  The only thing I shoot in it is 115 grain Precision Delta hollow points.  The ramp looked smooth (shiny black color, like the barrel) but I could feel a line across it with my fingernail.  I used a dremel to polish the feed ramp till I could no longer feel that line.  I haven't had a failure to feed since.

Thanks for the experience and opinion. I did a bunch of research and found a few differences but nothing huge between the 75 compact, and the P01. Seems the czcustom upgraded SDP leaves the differences between the 75 D (compact) and the P01 basically the same gun, I couldn't find any thing different. I'm really looking forward to getting mine in.

I was torn between getting the suppressor ready varient and the P01 / 75 D compact. I don't have a can yet, so I leaned toward a model I can carry easier. I'm hoping what CZcustom does to the SDP is equal to what cajun gun works in Louisiana did with my SP01. Unbelievable work from those guys.

I got the Urban Gray/Omega model because I carry mine cocked and locked.  No decockers for me.

Yeah, I have heard some people prefer it that way. I've never used a safety, but have used the decocker on my SP01 in competition, so the DA on a cajunized gun isn't bad at all. I fear I'd fumble with the safety if I had to flip that switch in a life/death situation. I know its a matter of practice.

Well that's good info. They look like cool handguns. I just had to make a decision about what I really needed.
