I have been 'bragging' about my CZ82 and CZ83 pistols to my shooting buddy for more than five years. He has been impressed with the feel and accuracy, but had resisted their siren call (CZ82 - a whole new cartridge and a bit too snappy in the recoil; .380ACP CZ83 - nice, but way heavier than his Glock 42) until the first time he shot one of the CZ83 pistols chambered in .32ACP.
I had him help me with my five round test firing of the first batch and it only took the initial three shots to convince him he 'needed' one of them. He came in immediately, filled out the Form 4473, and three days later (72 hour handgun waiting period in Illinois) walked out with his purchase and a big smile on his face.
The .32ACP CZ83 really is one of the nicest handguns I have fired. I waited five or six years to find one - if anybody has been considering getting one, jump on in, the water is fine. There may be enough in this latest batch of imports to saturate the market, but I kind of doubt it. Regardless of what subsequently happens to the pricing on these used pistols, there is certainly some limit to the total quantity available, so be ready to pull the trigger now if you see a good deal on one.
