P-07 with DPPro and Compensator
« on: December 27, 2017, 10:17:05 AM »
Just got my Springer Comp for Urban Grey P-07 from Santa.
DPPro, optional DP rear iron, .440 tall custom Dawson tritium co-witness front iron, Surefire XC-1 light, Talon grip. Nice combo!
Just got to the range to try out the comp. What a difference. Less muzzle rise = faster shooting+accuracy. Like shoot'in fish in a barrel!  ;D

Looks great!

With that sight combo what exactly is your POA/POI?

Are you shooting low or high with the .440 front?

I have the same set up on a P-09 and have messaged multiple people that have not been able to attain a good POA/POI.

The optional Leupold rear iron has some adjustment, so if I shut off the light, the irons work about spot on at 10 yards, but the adjustment is all way to the bottom. If I did it again I would go to .450 on front sight to have a tad more adjustment. But really, the red dot is so easy to use it almost feels like an 'unfair advantage' when shooting fast.  Not a bad thing to have in a Defensive gun.  O0

Yes, Santa was very nice, even though I was a bad boy and spent too much money on my CZ's this year.  O0

P.S. I was surprised that the comp did not cause any cycling issues requiring a recoil spring change. 1st 125 rounds cycled 100% with comp using 124gr standard pressure ammo (S&B and PMC). Of course, I've never had any issues with this gun anyhow, so I think it's good to go.

Is that the CZC multi-optic cut on the slide?  I was wondering if the optional rear sight for the DP Pro would fit with this cut.

Yes, the cut is the multi-optic from CZ Custom. And yes, as you can see the optional DPPro rear iron does work OK, but with the .440 tall tritium night sight (custom-made by Dawson $59) the rear iron sits down flush on the un-milled back of slide; but does co-witnesses perfectly. In other words, if I shut off the red dot and use just the irons my poa and poi is bulls eye. As I had mentioned; a .450 tall front sight might give me just a tad more adjustment. I'll try to post an image later today of the sight picture with/without red dot.

OK, First image below is co-witness with red dot OFF.
The one below it is with red dot ON. It looks like the red dot would cover the rear iron (proving they line up correctly) but when actually using the red dot you will place the dot to center of reticle. Where the red dot is...The bullet will go. Bingo! Easy-Peasy.

Sorry for delayed response. Too many Honey-Do projects lately.

Yes, this has proven to be a great set-up. Almost 5 years in and NO regrets. The DPP is a tank and only wish it was easier to adjust brightness up/down. Otherwise it's been super durable and so easy to shoot with the dot. Nearing 10K round count.

Ditched the Comp as not much benefit IMO, but waiting almost a year now for Tax Stamp to use with my Griffin Arms suppressor.

Are you of the opinion then that these small compensator attachments are more like gimmicks? I noticed the latest Hellcat variant comes with something similar.

The barrel came threaded so thought I'd try it; but I really don't notice much difference. Maybe that's just me.
I use this pistol in local Carry-Optics matches; and I believe a comp is not allowed in CO, and would push me into Open. -JMO  YMMV

Yep, comp would bump you to Open div.

I was curious what kind of loads you were shooting.  I hear most guys with comps say you don’t notice the benefits until there is enough gas to make a difference.
