Local gun store shenanigans
« on: January 09, 2018, 04:36:51 PM »
Here is some craziness that I can across at my LGS.

Does anyone have a decent gun shop local them that doesn?t try and get an arm and a leg? It seems like I never have a good local shop and they get mad when you just say you will buy online.

I don?t bother with buying mags locally when there?s Greg Cote inside my computer who delivers to my mailbox.
Used to own a CZ Jawa...

That's outrageous. Have you tried ordering from CZ-USA directly?

Oh I should have stated I am not looking for any mags I just ran across this while I was looking over all of the other outrageously expensive items.

What?s crazy is EVERYTHING is about 50% higher then what it should be.

6.5 creed ammo that I buy for $27-$28 a box (when I used to buy factory) was listed as $39?!?

Urban grey P09 suppressor ready $679. Phantom $599.

I get so bleep angry at LGS now days. I even try to negotiate with them. I?m like hey I?ll pay a little more to keep you guys open but I?m not getting screwed over when I can just wait a few days.

.22 CCI standard velocity $11!

I could go on an on.

Wow.....you have a LGS that stocks CZ stuff?  I'd be thrilled to have a LGS that even heard of CZ let alone stocked a gun or a part!

Ah, i see, and yes, sometimes the markup is insane. My LGS is much more reasonable, good people at On Sight Shooting School.

Yes that?s one thing that they intrigues me about them. I can walk in and get 455?s, some CZ shotguns, 527?s, multiple CZ pistols.

They even have a CZ urban sniper or something like that for a whopping $3500 lol.

So what part of the country are you located? I'm in Northeast Ohio and even the most out of line dealers are not even close to that level of gouging.

I live in North Texas also and I won't go near an LGS around here....prices although not as bad as the OP's LGS are still way over the line on their prices.....most of them sell everything at original MSRP including guns

What gets me is that when you actually research and go in with proof of how much you can get a gun or accessories for they usually won?t budge. I am located in Wichita Falls and gun stores come and go pretty regular. They are ALWAYS way over priced. They never stay open and close shortly after they open.

We are not a huge town and we have multiple gun stores not including pawn shops that are filled with guns and Academy is the best one. At least they are reasonable with their prices. They are also willing to price match.

It?s sad when customers like me actually prefer Mom and Pop stores including restaurants. I like to build a relationship with them and give someone my money that deserves it. I would like to help them stay open but it never works out.

On the plus side I have an FFL that lets me do transfers for $5-$10 lol.
