Dead trigger in my P-01
« on: February 04, 2018, 04:09:48 PM »
Well my P-01 (circa 2003) is headed back for repair.  After thousands of rounds, I started having issues at the range yesterday.  Noticed the reset didn't feel right.  It would barely click, and when I hit the decock lever the trigger turned into a Smith 5906 w/o a mag inserted - nothing.  Also seems like the firing pin block lever isn't actuating normally either.

I did notice by accident if I had it turned onto its left side, the trigger would function normally most of the time, but not all.

Any ideas what could be wrong?  I'm sure CZ will figure it out, but kinda curious what happened.  Hoping it gets sorted out, otherwise I might need to replace it.

Are the legs of the trigger bar spring under the trigger bar and lifting it into position?

Unload it (remove the magazine and the round in the chamber).

Turn it upside down and look down the magazine well with a flashlight.

Are the two legs of the spring in the grooves in the bottom of the trigger bar?

It won't work right if those legs are inside, or outside of the trigger bar.  Sometimes, just one spring leg out of position can cause a problem.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I concur with M1A4ME's post above. To add to this, removing the grips allows for a improved view of the trigger bar spring.

Here is a picture for reference. In this picture the trigger bar spring is just out of the groves in the underside of the trigger bar. The spring end should ride in the grove on both sides of the trigger bar. For clarity the trigger bar must have up tension so that it catches the leg of the FPB lifter and sear as it travels rearward when the trigger is pulled.

Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)
