CZ P-07 CGW Extended Mag Release
« on: February 05, 2018, 12:37:44 AM »
Hey guys has anyone had a CGW extended mag release installed in there 07 ? I had one put it mine when I sent it for the Pro-Package. Gun is absolutely awesome but the mag release has always dug into my hand a bit, especially after extended range trips. My hand got tougher as the day and sessions went on but it still always was there and hurt just a tad. I know I'm a baby,,LOL !  Anyways I took it out and carefully knocked down the top corners and smoothed the edges. Unfortunately I took some of the finish off but I have a buddy the Cerakotes stuff so once I am 100% sure its good to go I'll give it to him when he is doing a job. Anyways I reinstalled it and it seems much better but a range trip will tell for sure. Like I say its always worked perfect but for me with my bigger hand those nice square corners always dug in just a tad. I'll give ya a heads up on it when I hit the range again this week.

I find the stock Mag release to be perfect. What I could use is an extended slide release that is easier to disengage, perhaps something that sticks outwards a little more than stock.

Yea I hear ya Tex on the extended slide release they are nice at times ! I always put them on my Glocks and my 1911s but even with that I used them very little when I was actually shooting ! I always grab the slide 99% 0f the time and release it that way. Mostly cuz we are always practicing reloads, tap racks, using dummy rds,,etc, but I agree they do have there place. Now depending on the gun I always liked the "extended" mag release mostly so I don't have to move or change my grip as much when I can reach the mag release easier. I hate to use a bad word here but I wish ALL guns had the mag release like H&K !!!  :o The paddle release on H&Ks in my eyes is the best !! People can't except it but use it and try it for a month of shooting and you will see what I mean. I can go back easy enough to a "traditional" button release,,but I always would favor the HK setup. I know weird but then that's me,,,LOL !  ;)

LOL,,guys yes the Stock mag release is fine and works perfect, no questions about it, but that was not the question. It was for guys that have bought and used the CGW "Extended" mag release in the P-07 and if it dug/cut into your hand a little bit. I have an extended in my SP-01 and its fine. Anyways no worries just throwing it out there to see if anyone else had similar issues. Thanks for the responses just the same.  Also I went to the range yesterday and ran 200+ rds through the gun and the release works perfect and it didn't dig into my fat little hand,,,LOL !
