Its an exceptional trigger my friend. Its one of my favorite pistols. Remember, that the Walther P99 is SA/DA
If the pistol is fired double action, the movement of the slide automatically sets the striker rearward to the single action mode. Here the trigger remains to the rear requiring only about 1/8 of an inch of travel forward to be reset for the next shot. If the trigger is released during single action fire, it goes only partly forward where the single action safety notch on the trigger arm comes into play with the frame. Pulling the trigger again causes it to pivot and unlock as with the double action notch of the trigger arm. Now, here is the real trick. the gun has a dorsal rear decocking button at the rear of the slide, so you can go ahead and decock it.
When the decocking block is depressed, it cams the single action sear-actuator lever forward. This trips the single action sear, allowing the striker to go forward to stop against the depressed decocking block. When the decocker is released to return to its upper position, it clears the striker for forward movement to fire the pistol the next time the trigger is pulled. For some reason , Walther decided to call this Quick Action or some slang use to describe it as "Fast Action". I think what they should really call it is Single Action Striker. ,but thats just my opinion.
Here is a word of caution, it will take you a minimum of 500 rounds to break this gun in if you buy it. The trigger will feel very STIFF regardless of SA or DA, it will still feel stiff for at least 400 rounds and then it will get better. A word of caution, this is not your run of the mill type gun. You have to like DA and hard pulls to get this. If you are not a Glock man, then forget about even coming close to buying this puppy, if you have shot 1911s all your life, then you will hate this gun. If you are demented like me, you will love it.
Also, this gun loves
