Grip stippling on CZs
« on: March 03, 2018, 10:38:47 AM »
Hello all,

I'm giving some thought to having some grip texturing done on my P-07 and P-09 (I find the texturing on my P10c sufficiently aggressive) but I'm hesitating because I understand the depth of the polymer is a little thin in some parts of the grip.  Anyone care to share their opinions and or some pics of the work you have have had done?

If you will ever consider selling it, stippling will hurt it.  I personally prefer talon grip.  Cheap and work great plus they are removable.

How are the Talon Grips?   How much bigger do they make the grip feel?

Talons really make it no bigger, very thin.  Either sandpaper or rubber, I like the rubber.  Here is my shield:

Great, I?d love to see how the grip work came out!

And it?s good to hear that the Talons are thin.  That might be an option for me too.

They are certainly worth trying... they may be all you need.

I wanted something a lot more aggressive. ;-)

I put the talon grips on my few P-pistols. Love the way it feels and grips. I went with the granular, it was a little too rough but I knocked it down with some sandpaper to my liking - perfect since.

I have one place on my 07 where the grip is "slipping" just a tad. I posted in another thread about probably ditching the talons all together and going with stipple. I was just waiting on my 09 to have issues - that was around 2 weeks ago, neither talon grip has had any other issues.

I got another 09, and stippled just the back strap - so far I have found the stippling I did and the stock front strap texture a little annoying and sharp so far - for about 300 rounds and good bit of dry practice. I know I could just knock them down a little too - but I still prefer the way the talon grips feel. I ordered another talon grip for that 09.

I will test/abuse them through the summer and see how they hold up - I figure best case - they hold up fine and I'll be good, worst case the fail and I do a full stipple and get it to where I want it. I prefer the talon grips so far and like that I can pull them off and it's all back to stock.

Look forward to seeing yours, sOnspark!

I am currently using Talon Grips on my Sig P320 X-Carry but not on my CZ P-10C. I found the grip on the Sig P320 X-Carry to be a little to slippery for my taste so I added the Talon grip. However, the aggressive grip on the P-10 is perfect for me so I will leave it as is. Because the Talon grip is so thin, it does not add any width to the grip.

Curious... has anyone tested the Talons against water - getting the gun really wet?

I?m wondering both how they hold up and if they stay grippy.

All of my shooting is indoors so I have never had my Talon grips exposed to water so I have no idea how they would react.

It's good to hear the Talons are thin.  I just may try a set of the granular ones.
Thank you for the info.
